Looks like KD may be fit so do we bring him back or risk destroying any confidence Bart has left by dropping him after one bad game. Does Nigel keep KD on the bench? If Bart plays and has another mare he may be finished. Could be kill or cure. What do we all think?
Only reason bart got a game was because KD was injured.. And unluckily for him he blew it infront of the cameras... But once KD is fit.. he will return.., Would be to much of a risk it again against our fiercest rivals.. on yet TERRESTRIAL tv.. Smple
I think you are absolutely right. Adkins had to say what he said after the game = he could not publicly crucify him. After so many years at Southampton, he should have been right up there for the no1 shirt, particularly in view of KD,s age. Time for him to move on - he ain,t ever going to make it.
Davis will play and Adkins will explain why - he will also speak to bart personally to boost his confidence
Davis has had worse games for us than Bart did Saturday. He had a whole season of games like that about 5 years ago when everyone was wanting him dropped.
well we obviosuly remember differently but im sure it didnt help that fans were getting on his back so dont let it happen with Bart everyone
If it was anybody but our fishy friends, I'd say play him to give him a chance, but we need our very very best team on Sunday. We don't wanna worry about player's confidence. Even the defence didn't want to backpass to Bart on Saturday, as they were unsure of him so go with Kelvin and bring Bart into a game that won't matter as much.
From what I have heard Kelvin should be fit on Sunday. He has made mistakes before of course (I remember him letting one squirm through his legs before as well), and Bart hasn't become a bad player overnight. He'll be back.
I think the problem now is that every game will matter. Unless Nigel decides the cup game at Coventry is a risk worth taking. I personally won't lose too much sleep if we dont have a long cup run.
Spot on. Nigel should tell Bart now that, barring any further injuries to Kelv, his next game will be against Coventry. That will give him a few weeks to get his confidence back. And, as you say, from the team's point of view, it's a game we can afford to lose (but don't tell Bart that!).
He may have had a bad year but not in one game did he make as many mistakes as Bart did. We're lucky Blackpool didn't gamble on this further. I've been rooting for BB for a long time, it's hard to take but we all know why it happened.
Will dropping him for Kelvin vs Pompey really dent his confidence? Good game or bad game vs Blackpool, he'd have known he was only ever filling in whilst Kelvin was injured. His performance vs Blackpool will dent his confidence. I'm not convinved that making way for Kelvin this comking weekend will (assuming Kelvin is fit).
