Tweet from Official Rovers Twitter page today.....

"John Ward confirms that Rovers are in talks with Arsenal and Everton over goalkeeper Matt Macey."

Macey has been on trial at several clubs prem clubs and it looks like its out of Arsenal and Everton who will sign him. Macey was out of contract in the summer and has since been signing rolling months contract. As he is under 24, we will still get a fee for him. Wonder how much if he is as good as Arsenal and Everton believe he is.

I don't think he can lose. If he goes to Arsenal or Everton it will be a wonderful experience and he might make the grade.
But if not he can go out on loan to a Championship or L1 side.

Is he any good? I've not seen him play....

If so, can't we keep him?

I saw him a few times play for the U18s, and for a while he was involved in the pre-match warm-ups under Buckle.
Was competent and kept a number of clean sheets. Tall lad. Good shot-stopper, kicking a bit dodgy.
Too early in his career then to say he's a star of the future. With Mildenhall here for a few years I'd wish him
well and try to get every last penny for him.
