Well we have 3 - although 2 are injured - would Mignolet get back in for anyone??

Would Westwood playing between the sticks from the start have made a difference?? From what I've seen regarding coming for crosses and commanding his area over the past few games it would have to be a yes for me - the defence also appear to have more confidence in him as well...

Personally - he stays in for me no matter who's fit - he should be there to be shifted so to speak...

Westwood looks like the real deal... Infact, based on what I've seen so far he looks like the best keeper we have had for a long time...

Not using this as a reason to have a pop at Bruce... but having said that... how the hell has it took so long for Westwood to be handed a starting position? If it hadn't of been for Mig's unfortunate injury (and I hope he gets well soon) Westwood would have still been sitting on the bench.

    Unfathomable.

Can we have an easier one please?

Although i personally like what Westwood brings, could he shift Gordon if fit?

At present there's no choice, but if all 3 were fit....

    Gordon...sorry.

He's got the shirt so he is in as long he continues to do well. Looked good against Fulham. Having said that, Mig has done well as have the defence. Thats the one plus of the season. The lack of midfield flare, vision, attacking play, goals, (except for Seb) on the other hand, is.

I walked past the Mig yesterday at the metro centre, his nose looked fine but he had one hell of a black eye considering the incident happened a couple of weeks ago.

Westwood has got to be first choice if all were fit, he's playing 2 1/2 games and he's done very well in them all so far. I rate Gordon highly but if Westwood is impressing then he deserves to keep the gloves between the jumpers until that changes.

I wouldn't drop Westwood for Gordon until he has a run of games which exposes some form of weakness. I havn't felt so confident about our keeper for a long time.

I may be wrong here as i never saw it...

But in the debacle known as Brighton game, didn't Westwood make an appearance and have a howler? let me know anyone there.

I don't know as I was at work at the time, fortunately.

I suppose everybody is allowed a howler once in a while aslong as the general consistency is in position.

I'm impressed by what I've seen and his double save against Man U (it was Man U wasn't it) was like watching Monty all over again. Perhaps Bruce might win the FA cup too!

I feel you answered on of your own questions here... Mig kept his place because he didnt have a bad game. Westwood has now stepped in and has shown that not only does he not (so far) have a bad game, he has had 2 brilliant ones.

Based on what I have seen from all 3 keepers so far, when fully fit it will be Gordon and Westwood fighting for a starting place with Mig as the 3rd choice.

Can't see Gordon fighting for anything. He (almost certainly) won't be here.

As long as Westwood is playing well there is no need to replace him when Mig, or Gordon for that matter are fit. Still think Gordon is away soon and probably for a free, 9mil down the pan due to SAFC not tying him down to a contract, if only short term until he's fully fit.

Gordon will want a to have a new contract here imo, even if it is only a 1 or 2 year one.

I cant see him going anywhere else except for Scotland, until he has proved his fitness for us again. You cant blame him for his broken arm, nor his knee so I reckon he will be able to get back into again.

Westwood should of been number 1 keeper from the start.

Mignolet has cost us too many matches this season.

Newcastle: Should of saved that free kick.
Norwich: Could of commanded his box a bit better, and for me was at fault for 1 of the goals. Poor positioning.
Chelsea: Should of saves Sturridge's goal. That was dreadful keeping.
Arsenal: Should of saved both goals. Did not even move for the 1st, and made some stupid dive for the free kick (which wasn't top corner).

Theres 4 matches he's made mistakes. Should of been dropped after the derby match.

Westwood is confident, excellent shot stopping (better than Gordon) and commands his box. Did you see him on Saturday coming out his box barking orders at the defence. Also seen him grab defenders and move them into posistions on corners.

Proof that Bruce is too loyal for his own good.

Westwood is my choice for No 1 keeper. He's positive in every departmnt of his game, good shot stopper, not afraid to mix it on crosses and free kicks and marshalls the defence well. I'd give Gordon a 1 year contract and tell him to prove himself in reserve games. If he makes it I'd sell Mingolet and let Gordon fight with Westwood for number one spot.
