    Next week:

    Man Utd v Fulham
    Spurs v Stoke
    Villa v Newcastle
    Sunderland v West Brom

The table on paper could well look like this:

    9th Sunderland 41
    10th Newcastle 39
    11th Stoke 38
    12th Fulham 38

I'm not saying it's definite, all i'm saying is you would fancy Man Utd and Spurs to win, Villa have the players to pull off a win and we have West Brom who are doing well but haven't exactly got an airtight defence.

Then look at the run ins:

    Sunderland

    West Brom (H)
    Birmingham (A)
    Wigan (H)
    Fulham (H)
    Bolton (A)
    Wolves (H)
    West Ham (A)

    Newcastle

    Villa (A)
    Man Utd (H)
    Blackpool (A)
    Liverpool (A)
    Birmingham (H)
    Chelsea (A)
    West Brom (H)

I know which run of games i'd rather have!!

We WILL get chances against West Brom and a we have two strikers in Gyan and Welbeck who can take their chances. For those who think we are destined for relegation please move onto the mags board and stay there. We've had a terrible run of fixtures, form and injuries which continue to knock us back.

We have 4 winnable home games. One or two wins in our last 7 games will keep us up no doubt. We have a squad which on paper is top half material and on our day we can dominate teams. So lets all take a step back, look at the table. We're 12th, just 3 points away from 7th and just 1 point away from 9th.

At the start of the season we said top 10 would show progress and its still very possible. I don't care how many mags invade our board, crying with happiness about overtaking us. They have had a fantastic season and I'll hold my hands up and say they outclassed us twice however second season syndrome could easily bite them and they will struggle next season, just ask Birmingham.

P.S. I posted most of that on an article but felt it needed an article of it's own lol

P.S.S. I don't know whether much of that made sense I just wanted to lash out a few positives to ease the pain :/

Second season syndrome, you keep clinging on to that hope. We could ask yourselves, or Stoke, or Wigan(not this season). Its a myth, its how you perform, your mentality has to be right and know that you don't have a divine right to stay up.

Looking our fixtures, on paper they are hard, however, just look at our record in the hard games against those teams, its not too bad. Chelsea are out of the title race, we have won there already this season, and if they are in the champions league, it could be a good time. Man Utd will be hard, terrible home record and we are missing Nolan. Liverpool will be entertaining for one reason only. The rest are more than winnable.

You lot need to score a goal before thinking about moving anywhere.

All I'm trying to say is that the league can change so quickly. This week it's our turn to be all doom and gloom, next week it could be Stoke's, it could be yours.

If you look I haven't said anything is definite, all I've done is suggested what could happen and that we aren't destined for the championship just yet.

I would agree our remaining fixtures are easier than our dear dear friends. But that's not the point.I fully expect us to finish above them.Brucie needs to to show a little less love and understanding and make it clear our current displays are not good enough. HTW

Ha ha ha c'mon son.The only restriction on any club's ambition should be financial. You lot have done very well indeed, coming up from the championship, and playing against the big boys every week.Survival for you is almost assured at this stage.

You are a little liar though pretending our ambitions are so limited. And we thought you were so clever. Ha Ha ha

So Steve Bruce never said his target was to finish above Newcastle? Ok then.

We've had tough fixtures, where its entirely possible we'd have got the same results even with a fully fit squad, which also means it's a difficult ask for the likes of Muntari & Sessegnon to come in and make debuts over that period.

The next seven are considerbaly kinder (on paper) and will be the true test of whether we've moved on or not. We're certainly not going down, and the top 10 is very possible given the teams we have left to play.

Whilst it might be argued that playing the teams lower in the league is dangerous, as they've something to fight for, they're also down the bottom of the league because they've been crap the majority of the season. We're on the slide due to some bad results, but we're sliding down only recently, and thats becuase there is a good team at SAFC, just badly out of form and have had a very tough run of games.

    True test still to come.

Facts are the Newcastle players are playing for the badge, ours aren't.

Any decent Toon fan will say, many have on here, that our squad, overall, is better than theirs.

The Toon players fight and fight though, are some of our fans to blame?

The SOL used to be rocking week in week out, the players loved it, thrived in it.

Now, the atmosphere is absolutely ****ing tragic.

Painful as it is to say, travel across to the shed on the hill, and it's boistrous and loud, the fans are behind the team.

I think we have a part to play in the slip, and i think Quinn's statements the other weeks start to make more and more sense.
