According to SKY Robbie Keane is signing for LA Galaxy and it will be completed today as they have the deadline. So thats another striker off Sven's list, only Maynard and Yakubu remain by the looks of things and we need a striker asap.

Steve Howard and Darius Vassell arent good enough to score the goals for us, Jeff Schlupp isnt ready yet for this level as a first team player and Martyn Waghorn didnt score all pre season and dont look like scoring in a month of sundays at the minute. He had half an hour to impress and he didnt. I like Waggy and wanted him stay but now I wouldnt be too bothered if he went. We all (Including me) look at Waggy with rose tinted specs after what he did for us while Nigel was here but since we signed him he has been crap. I think we should either offer him as part of the Maynard deal or loan him out to someone like Peterborough til Christmas and then have a look how he done and weather he deserves another chance here but on current form he is no use to the team.

David Nugent looks quality so far when he has been on the ball but he is very isolated on his own and without much support from the midfield or wingers

So who do we get in now. Maynard, Yak or go abroad?

    I would just get Maynard.

Him and Nugent would be class.

If Keane would rather pick-up a huge pay day in the States rather than play in a competitive league with the chance of PL football next year, then we're better without him as he clearly has no ambition left.

As for another striker, let's go for someone like Ebanks-Blake or Borini on loan so we do at least have someone in if we can't sign Maynard or Yak.

Another thing is fourth official was saying he was signing and he was also adamant Sol Bamba was signing for Blackburn. So from now on we will have to take what he says with a little bit of caution

The only problem could be that in the MLS you're only allowed three players over a designated salary cap. LA galaxy already have three players (David Backham, Landon Donavon and Juan Pablo Angel). Obviously Keane would be over the salary cap so LA would have to move on one of those players, probably Angel, and if the window closes today they'll have to move Angel on pretty quickly before they can sign him.

I think I still would take Keane if the LA move fell through because he is a proven striker but I'd like to see us go back in for Maynard first.

LA have just released ex Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel to get Robbie Keane. How old is he nowadays as him and Vassell looked a quality front 2 back in the day for Villa

Same, although I still read FourthOfficial's tweets, I am starting to get a bit suspicion of him and whether he has all the 'contacts' he says he has.

I did but he has decided to sell out instead.

Really disappointed as he would have been our marquee player and big enough to handle all of the pressure that comes with that - we saw how Mills buckled on Sat.

Keane has gone LA and now Ishmael Miller has gone Forest. Come on Sven just pay Bristol what they bloody want or pay bloody Yak. Either way I dont care aslong as we get one of them

I find it quite funny that you are saying Keane has sold out, most the players you have signed have done exactly that.

Keane has sold out at every club he has every been at, so don't know what else you expected.

Just saw on the sky sports info bar that Keane had to have signed by 5am this morning and the club will announce later whether or not they managed it in time.

Vicente Rodríguez Guillén (Spanish pronunciation: [biˈθente roˈðɾiɣeθ ɡiˈʎen]; born 16 July 1981 in Valencia), simply Vicente, nicknamed El puñal de Benicalap (The dagger of Benicalap), is a Spanish footballer.

A left winger with above-average technique, pace and netting ability, his career, blighted by constant injuries,[1][2][3][4][5][6] was mainly associated with Valencia, for which he appeared in more than 300 official games over the course of 11 seasons.

Vicente represented Spain at Euro 2004, being an international during the first half of the 2000's.

Last game Jan 2010 because of injury!!
