According to reports to Greek media his manager has said that he won't be a Fulham player next year...

    Will be missed.

Wish he had joined us a few years ago as a young player.

Agree, did well, but was subbed a few times, and a younger energetic version required who can do it for 90+ minutes.

Yeah, noticed this and have to say I'm a little disappointed if it's true. Here are some interesting stats about Georgis this season:

    – He’s made 20 league starts, and a further four appearances from the bench.

    – He has a higher pass-accuracy than any other Fulham player (90.3%).

    – He averages 1.9 successful tackles per game and 1.2 interceptions.

    – He plays an average of 41.1 passes per game, more than either Steve Sidwell (39) or Eyong Enoh (37.9).

I voted for him as player of the year because of his enthusiasm and commitment. Okay he's past his best but I think, with his experience and professionalism he still could offer something - especially in the dressing room - over next season.

I'd go as far as to say he's unique and would/will be sadly missed. With the paucity of our current midfield Jol must have some hot shots lined up.

Think this could be a mistake from Jol, like Murphy last year, maybe he can't play week in week out but what he offers us is something we need. Leadership and creativity. I'd much much preferred to have seen Sidwell leave and keep Kara on a 1 year deal.

    Totally agree Bandit.

However Sky say he's going along withSimon Davies and that the mystery new signing is Derek Boateng

"Experienced midfielders Giorgos Karagounis and Simon Davies are set to leave Fulham this summer.

The contracts for both midfielders are due to expire at the end of the season, and they are not being offered fresh deals.

The 36-year-old Karagounis joined the club on a free transfer in September and has played over 20 league games, becoming a firm fans' favourite.

"It is most likely that Sunday will be the last game that Giorgos will play for Fulham," his agent, Paschalis Tountouris, told Goal. He's had a terrific year and the Premier league was a great experience. There would be options for him to stay in England and would consider any challenges that may be available. It's very good that the fans of Fulham have recognised his contributions this season to vote him as the second best player and he will always have them in his heart."

Davies, 33, is moving on after six successful seasons at Craven Cottage which have seen him play over 150 games - but recently he has been dogged by injury.

"The thing with Simon is as long as I was here he was never fully-fit for more than two or three weeks, and that's a problem," said Fulham boss Martin Jol. When he was fit he was a wonderful player but if he's not fit we've got a problem, so we've got to sit down with him and talk about it. We will look after Simon and, of course, he can stay here as long as he needs to get fit, but it's about him as well. He has to make his mind up about his own fitness and if he wants to play again."

Fulham have already moved to bring in new midfield reinforcements as they are set to confirm the signing of Ghana international Derek Boateng on a free transfer."

Of course it's still all press conjecture, but ...

I wouldn't be against Boateng coming here, especially if it's for nothing, but we need creativity, Boateng offers steel in the middle of the park, which we already have in the form of Sidwell/Frimpong/Enoh but we are seriously lacking creativity.
