Kane for Golden Boot?

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by Hoddle is a god, Mar 7, 2015.

  1. Harry "the Hurra" Kane is currently the Prem's top home-bred goal-scorer, and he's a mere 1 goal away from being joint top.

What do you lads reckon are the chances of his winning the Golden Boot, and will any of you be putting any money on it, at your local bookies?

No wumming, please, lads. Keep it clean, eh.

Careful "golden boot" for Levy means golden handshake but in his case it's how much money he can pocket when he sells Kane...along with all the others that might have brought spurs success over the years? No wum, just asking <whistle>

  3. You're not wumming at all, Treble. It's a perfectly valid point. Thank you.

With Spurs and CoKane Harry only playing part-time, the powder fiend should be able in line for the GB. Costa will have on eye on Europe no doubt

How many goals has he got? Charlie Austin has 15, I believe.

I just checked. 16 to Charlie Austin's 15. But the league isn't over yet and I don't think you would have been saying this when CA had more goals than Kane.

Also, Austin plays for a much lower quality team so you could say CA has done better to score that many.

  6. Indeed, awjm, which is why I expect Charlie Austin's challenge to fall away.

Good chance. He has been very consistent. I hope so, good young player.

So no where being the top European one? Mountain out of a molehill. Be a while yet until another English does that.

Decent player. If he keeps it up I'd expect to see a big club come in for him at some point. RVP is on his last legs and Falcao is an expensive flop. If Utd are going to spend the sort of money that Falcao would demand for a transfer. I could see them going for somebody like Kane, but he needs to prove that he isn't a one season wonder first.

He's not just a goalscorer, he has much more to his game which means it's unlikely he's a one season wonder.

Time will tell. But I agree he's a decent player with a good all round game. Do you think he'd fit in at Utd ?

At the risk of upsetting all spurs contingent except Levy who I'm sure would be licking his eyebrows at the prospect, I would consider him. Techically able player with pace and finish. But the step up can be too big for some. He seems to love spurs so will probably be there for a few years I reckon.

At the moment he's a big fish in a small pond and he'd need to make the step up to a big club to prove that he's a player who can cut it at the top.

I think Levy will already be thinking about how much his star asset is worth, especially given that Spurs will need to finance a £450m new stadium.

I would just say that I now believe that Kane is the genuine article. I like Austin too, I don't think he's as technically adept as Kane, but he's a real predator.

Also, it would be good if that dozy twat, Hodgson, noticed that we actually have some good young English strikers he can pick from.

  16. I'm glad to see that there has been no wumming on this thread.

My prediction is that he'll be at Spurs for a very long time. He's come through our academy, and he knows that he has every chance to become a legend in the same vein as Martin Chivers and Martin Peters, as well as the many other great strikers that we've had. He is loved by the Spurs faithful, and he seems to relish the fact that he's now getting his chance with us. I'm sure he's had the chance to leave us before now, but he's waited for his chance and he's taken it. I can see us building a team around him and Eriksen, and to Kane becoming our captain, one day.

It really has been a long time since Spurs last had a legend.

  19. I'm talking about Strikers. We've had plenty of non-striker legends at Spurs, who are of more recent vintage, such as Pav, LOLdado, and Adebayor.
