Glad Harry showed his worth, I along with a few others have simply said the kid needs game time, a lot have judged him on 10 minute cameos or leading the line for the B team in which service won't be great. I thought he put in an assured performance yesterday, linked a few passes nicely, won a couple of long ball headers and if it weren't for Ade (<laugh>) he would've had a brace.

I think the defender would have cleared it without Ade, he was right to put that in, but lucky not to be called offside for it.

Yeah possibly, I was hoping Ade would've just shielded it in unless the defender showed a real desire to get there and clear it (which he didn't once Ade was first to it) but I don't blame Ade for taking it, it's striker's instincts to do so, plus they probably get a goal bonus from the club so Ade's picked up a very easy bit of dosh there.

  4. Sure, Kane scored a brace, last night, but that Sunderland side would have struggled against a Div 1 side. Let's not get carried away by this result, eh, lads. Even LOLdado might have scored in that match!

Let's see if he (and the team) can repeat the feat in any of our next 5 games. All are highly winnable.

Yes, I did question myself as to whether I should post that comment.

    He only scored one ;)

Personally I thought Adebayor and Kane put in a similar level of performance last night, which was a poor performance for Ade as he's our first choice striker and a good peformance for Kane as he's our 3rd choice striker.

You're right though, Sunderland were crap. It's a good sign that he's scoring though. If he can prove himself in the next few games then he'll be ideal the ideal 3rd choice for us. We can't afford to have a Ba or a Jovetic raking in £80k+ a week just to play a handful of games a season, especially if we're going to keep our best players

Considering how little competitive football Kane's played this season, his performance last night was very, very good.
His finishing was a bit off, but his movement was excellent, he caused the defence a lot of problems with his physical presence and he was always available for a pass.
If he's allowed a run in the side and gets comfortable, then we may see him replicate the goalscoring form that he's shown at other levels.

I'm not convinced by the Daddy Cool song, though. If nobody can come up with lyrics for one based upon Rock You Like A Hurricane by Scorpions for him, then something's seriously wrong.
Possibly not as wrong as the song itself, admittedly! <laugh>

Kane grafts, and positions himself well.
That is the reason he has done so well in the 4-3-3 that the U21s play(ed) .
IMHO of the two, Obika is far less clinical than Kane.

I've got to disagree with YV. I thought Ade was even better than Eiriksen, playing primarily out of position as a deep lying midfielder (since Paulinho wasn't getting things done), then managing to get up the pitch in time to score two.

Reckon Obika is done now (though he hasn't had the chances in the seniors) ,

Kane's produced the goods in the last few games. Great stuff from the youngster. It's nice to see him full of confidence and making the most of the opportunities he gets. There's still a lot he needs to develop to make him versatile enough to be a decent PL striker, though. good luck to him.

    Difficult one.
Loan to a PL club is a must if Spurs are not in the Europa (too few games for Kane to keep
    ticking over) .

  16. When Kane can produce the goods against teams that the media don't fancy us to beat, that's when I'll start to get excited.

Harry Kane and Connor Wickham should be going to Brazil but Hodgson will go for names like Rooney and Sturridge

<cheers>Cheers, THFC! I absolutely love all the Spurs stats on your site, and for some reason didn't think to ask you for the link.

    Eiriksen 10 goals 13 assists 1 goal/assist per 101 minutes...fascinating.

And Kane #2 (behind Fredericks) with 1/84.

    Imagine picking Sturridge over Kane!

With Eiriksen at the wheel, anyone getting into good positions is liable to score. This suits Kane extremely well, as he works hard, is big and fast for his size. He's got three in three now, and might just work out very well in the longer term. Paulinho is the other player who's been making a lot of runs lately. He scored a goal against Fulham and missed a second by about six inches when Eiriksen's cross just cleared his head and was met by Kane's.
