Whilst we are all wondering why Cisse is not getting a game, this article seems to answer the question - Millen is looking to move him on http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Payi...ayers-resort/story-13320018-detail/story.html
Good point Gerry,it seems to me complacency is coming back to bite amd he's hitting the panic button..
ffs millen why are you still in charge cisse shouldnt be moved on but the following players should be 1 Jamie Mcallister 2 Louis Carey 3 Cole Skuse 4 Martin Woolford 5 David Clarkson 6 Cristian Riberio 7 Marlon Jackson 8 Danny Ball 9 Joe Lennox 10 Nicky Hunt 11 Lee Johnson 12 Damion Stewart 35 12 players out takes our squad to 22 plus david james wont be here next year and im pretty sure maynard won be here so takes us to 20 players also spence and mcgivern then were down to 18, then out of those current players our squad will look like this Gerken ??? fontaine nyatanga ???? adomah cisse elliott Jcr Stead pitman awhhhh i cant be ****ed with it. let the club deal with this MASSIVE problem
Interesting list Shiny - a few random comments: The younger players like Ball and Lennox will be on low contracts. However, if they are not good enough to be future Championship players then I would agree to get rid. I suppose the controversial name that sticks out on your list is Skuse. While his workrate is good, his distribution is to be blunt, awful. I'm not sure Cisse and Elliott would work together (like Skuse and Elliott does not work). We need a creative midfield player in there. You could have Joe Edwards at right back? When Jamo drops off the wage bill it will be £20k p/w saved.
Because Cisse is good enough to cover him when he gets caught out of position/loses the ball repeatedly? Oh well, Millen doesn't think he's worth a place in the team.. I'd have him first name on the teamsheet atm
I think that if we were the manager we would all do things differently. From Shiny's list I would keep Cole Skuse, Marlon Jackson, Danny Ball, Joe Lennox Skuse is a very good holding player but I don't think the current set up plays best to his game so has had some poor games so far (not that any of our players have had great games), Will say that I thought like other fans that Skuse was one of best players against Brighton. Think Jackson could be a quality player for us but needs games to show whether he can live up to his potential. Ball and Lennox again have the potential but needs to be given games. Given his wages I thought we should have sold James to get some control over the wage budget but I also don't think Gerken is the right choice either. Think someone like Alex Smithies (if fit) or Scott Loach. Think with injuries that we should let Fontaine go but that won't be possible as he won't pass a medical to join another club. Don't get me wrong he is a good player but as one of the highest paid players is it worth having a player at the club that probably won't play half the season? Makes me wonder if... when the loan window opens maynard could go out on loan to January with option to sell so we at least get something for him. However if a new manager comes in it could be enough to make him sign a new contract. Its true that clubs with smaller budgets and teams you could argue are classed as being smaller clubs than us have gone up but they bring in players who play for big clubs but for some season just miss out and are let go. Some examples of players who helped their clubs go up: Swansea (Sinclaire from Chelsea) Burnely (Chris Eagles from Man Utd) Blackpool (Adam from Rangers)
I agree, there are definately good players out there that are realeased or sold cheap every year. Still confused as to why we didn't sell Maynard, for the money mentioned we could have completely overhauled our midfield.
'Has anyone figured out why we paid money and wages to bring in Yannick Bolasie?' AND Taylor Woolford Kilkenny All Millen signings who can't make the starting 11. 'Has anyone figured out why' - Ready for L1 !!! Millen has SQUANDERED what budget he had. Dead Man Walking.
Bolasie has to be better than Woolford. Surely he does? Not going to write him off or pass judgement until i've seen him play. But I don't see why we bought him if he wont get game time or even a place on the bench. Woolford is a waste of £700k. Taylor looked dire against Swindon... May get better, I hope so anyway!
