JW says "players must not underestimate the power of work-ethic"

John Ward says he is working hard to make sure his players don’t get carried away by their recent run of improving form.
Ward has guided the side out of the bottom two following a run of form that has seen the players pick up 14 points from their seven games following the departure of former boss Mark McGhee in December.

Their latest outing ended in wild scenes of celebration following a stoppage-time wonder strike off the boot of Oliver Norburn to claim a point against promotion-chasing Cheltenham Town on Tuesday night, but Ward said: “It’s all about maintaining the hard work the players have shown in the last few games. We have to always look ahead and the only reason for ever looking back is for the information that will help us in what we are trying to achieve.
“We have scored two late goals in our last two games and they have been important for us, but if we go to Oxford on Saturday and are sloppy or get lazy then what is the point?

I'm not sure the players will get carried away by their recent run of improving form there all brimming with confidence and are pumped for each game with the new say die attitude which has all been installed into them by JW. Don't worry JW.

Even if we lose say on Saturday I think this time round our players will react to this in the following game and get us back on track something that hasn't happen under Buckle and MM.

think JW isnt really talking about the players. think he is really talking about us fans. very clever how he has worded it. he doesnt want us to have the expectations that we will win every game and score a late goal in the last minute. he wants us fans to keep our feet on the ground and understand he has a big job on his hands and he needs us to be the 12th man and get behind the boys and take each game at a time but not to expect miracles.

    good message in a message.
