We all want Bruce to spend big bucks but we know he cant just buy,buy,buy. It comes down to what we can make do with and what positions we must fill. No arguments so far, good, maybe they will start now. We need back up in goal so get a goalkeeper. We neeD a CB so get a Johnson/Samba type. We dont need full backs! Bardo at RB and Richardson at LB with Anton who can cover back line along with Elmo covering RB and Colback LB. Leaves cash to get midfield and strikers sorted. Before you all start shouting are Bardo up to the job, yes they are. Can we get better, maybe but can we afford them without affecting other areas?
Hasn't a general complaint this season been square pegs for round holes and the fans are sick of making do? I agree 100% with you but I feel we need a dedicated lb with richardson as backup not richardson as first choice (but as you say who could we bring in and at what cost?). Bardo can certainly be my first choice rb.
Proper left backs are as rare as a mag at sid james, buying polish for a cup. Think it's gonna be the hardest position to fill, and can see bardo still playing there next season. And agree about another g/k
We need a LB not Richardson who even SAF failed to turn into a LB or Bardo who if we don't get Nedum will be our RB. Samba would be an excellent buy although with Arsenal reporting an interest with a 10mil bid could be out of our price range. To be honest we need a whole new team not of squad players but first choice players, agree with vauxsamsons assessment that we've made do for too long now and been lucky we won't be so lucky next time in my opinion. p.s. commachio 2 LBs available are Warnock who Villa seem unwilling to play and Konchesky who has had a mare at Liverpool but, was very good at Fulham. Both will need time to settle but, both would be better than what we have. Bardo was getting found out in the last few games as a converted RB.
Talc - totally right about both and I think Konchelsky is a really good player who just has never been accepted by the Anfield crowd. I bet he could be bought for £1m or less and would mean Bardiniho could move to right back. These are not cheap players but bargains IMO.
