I definitely need to pay more attention to Di Maria then as I don't think he's an old school winger at all. He's always played mostly on the right cutting inside and taking players on when I've seen him, the modern winger in a 433 in my eyes. Me too with Valencia but I think it goes to show how we can get ahead of ourselves with players, although I think Valencia will get back to his best with a run in the team. For me the only World Class players are: Buffon, Casillas, Lahm, Ramos, Kompany, Chiellini, Thiago Silva, Marcelo(glad to see someone else rates him), Pirlo, Xavi, Alonso, Fabregas Iniesta, Toure, Sneijder, Ronaldo, Messi, RVP, Falcao. Below that there's a lot of very good players but few have performed at such a high level over a number of seasons. Even some of those I'm a bit hesitant to call World Class as the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi, Pirlo and the 'keepers reallys stand out as they've been at the very top of the game for so long. I just don't get it with Suarez, he's a tricky player but when's the last time he had a big influence in a game against a top side? I've never seen him pull a top quality defence inside out which is probably reflected by him only having about 5 of his league goals scored against top half opposition this season.
When I say old shcool I mean one that gets assists rather than goals. Bale is very much the opposite, like Ronaldo, and will run at players and score from anywhere. I get what you mean and respect it but I think your standards are very high . Suarez is different though, imagine where Liverpool would be without him . I don't think he's as good as the rest I put there though.
Dunno, i don't think Mata is influential enough to have a team built around him. A Messi or Ronaldo he ain't. The thing I find frustrating about him is he does sometimes go missing, ducking out of challenges, especially when we we are under pressure such as when defending 2-0 leads...... Having said that he's still a fantastic attacking talent and is my 2nd favourite player of the new generation. Oscar has a more dynamic intelligence on the ball, and will be more influential at the age of 24 than Mata is now.
With more games, bulk and experience, I think Oscar has potential to be one of the best around, no question. in 2-3 seasons I expect Oscar will be one of the best in the world in his position.
I personally think Mata's absolute class. Just my opinion though, but he'd walk into almost any team's starting XI's, other than Madrid, Barca, and Man Utd, and possibly Bayern. I don't know much about Bayern so he might walk right on there. Barca obviously have Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas. At Madrid I think he'd be behind Ozil in the pecking order and he wouldn't get in front of Rooney at United, but he would probably play on the left. Bale is like a glorified mix of Ronaldo and Nani. Absolute beast on his day but relatively inconsistent and if you're going to build a team on someone you'd want to know that 9/10 times he's going to deliver the goods. That's what make's Ronaldo so good, he can play that powerful unstoppable game almost every single game of the season and you don't have to worry about him having an off game. Mata always seems to deliver the goods when Chelsea need it, imagine if they had someone other than Torres playing up top. Someone world class like Danny Welbeck.
Stop backtracking, the holes in your argument are as big as the holes in your defence when Six and the City happened
Going back to Bale, for a moment, whether or not he's "world class" (whatever that may mean?), very few, other than complete and utter numpties, would not accept that he'd walk into all but the Barca and Real Madrid sides; and even with those two sides, he'd be on a par with whoever else they had, and it would only be the fact that the team would rotate its player-selection, that he would not play every game. Who cares whether or not you lot (and the Gooners) consider him to be "world class"? The more you bang on about it, the more your envy shines through. The facts - and these are the only facts in which I am personally interested - is that Bale is a Spurs player, and that it is quite clear that he will remain a Spurs player for several seasons, yet.
What is the definition of WORLD CLASS, pray????? If someone can correctly interpret the meaning of it then we'll be able to quickly determine if Mata is world class or not! Otherwise you will all have to take my word for it--i.e Mata IS world class!
'It's only 5-1, it's only 5-1, 50,000 empty seats, it's only 5-1. It's only 6-1, it's only 6-1, 60,000 empty seats, it's only 6-1. It should have been 10, it should have been 10, you lucky bastards, it should have been 10'
HIAG - x2 facts?? Fact 1) Bale is a Spurs player. Agree Fact 2) Bale will remain a Spurs player for several seasons. Urm....not exactly a fact right now is it?? The reality is that both players bring a lot to their respective teams and both could play a part in most other teams. That is all. Thank you and good night.
I did that once, Ozzie. It was aboard an Airbus, on a flight from Gatwick to Istanbul. There wasn't much room in the restroom, and I kept banging my arse against the sink. But she was only 19 and as gorgeous as ****, so it wasn't very long before I unloaded. Thanks for asking. I love it when we share our intimate stories with each other. Tell me, have you ever been on a gay cruise?
