Just received an email from ITFC.

If I buy a Jr blue membership, it's now £9.99. Why would you want one I hear you cry?

" A ticket that entitles up to two adults and two under 19s FREE ENTRY to Portman Road to watch a home league match of your choice worth over £89.00
    (subject to availability) "

    * Tries to put in basket to see what comes up - carriage fees = £3.99 - so total £13.98.

So anyone can just buy one.

Therefore, why would any sane adult without a season ticket, go to a game and pay £25 a ticket when you can pay £13.98 for one.... half the price if you're going with a friend etc.

Very unethical, but if I wasn't moving abroad next month I'd be all over this.

I'd feel quite bad about doing / suggesting something like this normally but the way I see it, this club has F***ed with fans for many a year... they deserve everything they get.

At worst, this could be a sign of a club not paying attention, but I prefer to think more positively about this particular scheme and think it's an effort to get people in the stadium and attract the casual family crowd. I'm fairly certain they did something similar to this last season, so I don't believe it's a wilful oversight, otherwise somebody would surely have noticed by now.

I cannot recall if they still do this, but I think the tickets are marked so that they get checked on the gate and you have two under 19s with you. They probably won't care too much these days though.

Oh of course it's a great little scheme / good way of getting a few extra bodies along / bit of revenue. Clearly aimed at kids saying ' wow mum that's cool ' - but the fact it's two under 19 / with two adults.....

I mean worst case scenario, lets say two adults buy this and go along to a game of their choice with the pack. I cannot think the club could then turn them away ' where are the other two, nope, not coming in today folks '.
