after crewe released him & mccammon from trials, gowling is now on his way to lincoln city(last on loan from us) in the conference for about a 2 year deal...thought he was certainly better than that level!

Gowling had the skill and athleticism of a good league 1 player. Unfortunately he had the concentration levels of a 5 year old. Key question on potential is was it his fault or was poor coaching to blame?

Not having consistency in a player is what keeps so many in non league football, league clubs don't want players that won' perform every game. It's a real shame with Gowling, but he either plays well or plays terrible there's no in between for him. So we either win 3-0 or lose 4-3! I wouldn't personally put it down to coaching because even Garry Richards was more consistent then him. (although consistently crap in my opinion)

He's always been the same player, no nonsense hoofball but he is just technically not very good. I imagine Frampton is going to jump into the first team and if he is as good as the Millwall fans say he is then fair play, frampton and lawrence would be a very experienced but very slow defence!

Maher has also been linked with a move to Lincoln City. I think Maher, Nutter and Gowling could all play at league 1 depending on the players around them. Sinclair has shown good athleticism but on the whole lacked pace and the reaction time was appalling. If lincoln can secure them I reckon they would be back up for the start of the 2012/2013 season.

I reckon Lincoln will bounce straight back up. Steve Tilson is their current manager isn't he? I saw him at quite a few of our games over the last 2 seasons, obviously saw something in a few of our players

True Kentish man. King especially not now, after what i saw at the end of last season, he was out paced by just about everyone. Frampton and Lawrence at least have the experience and positioning necessary and maybe king to do well, i really don't rate Richards though., if you couldn't tell :p
