I'm not a fan but I'm not going to be so thought I'd look at wider opinion, I find his latest comments mental. Is it really all about competing financially? Is it all down to how much you spend?

Competing with City is not going to be easy but shouldn't a top manager be able to spot a player and build a squad?

    This is from the BBC...

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says the £300m he has spent on his squad so far is "not enough" after their 2-2 draw with Burnley on Tuesday.

"We are in the second year of trying to rebuild a football team that you know is not one of the best teams in the world," said the Portuguese.

"Manchester City buy full-backs for the price of strikers," he added.

Mourinho was appointed United boss in May 2016 and broke the world record last summer to sign £89m midfielder Paul Pogba, plus £30m defender Eric Bailly and midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan for £26.3m.

This year's big deal was £75m striker Romelu Lukaku, as well as £31m defender Victor Lindelof and £40m for midfielder Nemanja Matic.

"[Spending £300m] is not enough. The price for the big clubs is different than for the other clubs. The big historical clubs are normally punished in the market because of that history," he said.

"The boys are doing what they can and they are doing fine."

Mourinho was asked if eight points from the past five games was good enough for a club like United.

He responded: "When you tell a club like Man Utd, do you think Milan is not as big as us? You think Real Madrid are not as big as we are?

"I know what a big club is. One thing is a big club and another thing is a big football team. They are two different things.

"When you speak about responsibilities to win the Premier League, Tottenham doesn't have that responsibility because they are not a club with the same history as us.

"Arsenal don't have the responsibility to win it. Chelsea don't have the responsibility to win it. When you speak about big football clubs, you are speaking about the history of the club."

Set the actual money aside, and he is correct in that the figure is skewed by the ridiculous current market and then a mark up when United come calling, he is correct in that the squad still needs some additions yet. Plus, get rid of some.

The bottom line fact of the matter is the Glazers gave Ferguson a budget, he was starved of funds to genuinely refresh the squad on going, spend every summer which amounted to not a lot.

By the time Fergie left the squad was on its arse. And City and Chelsea were refreshing nicely.

Then Moyes and van Gaal came through and made a mess of things so Mourinho has inherited a squad still in need of some proper investment.

That said, he's made some poor purchases himself so has wasted some money. We definitely need to spend though to in any way compete with City and in Europe.

This does not take away the fact he's a prick mind.

He is seriously ill in the head. Not sure it's right we lay into the ****.

I would hate him being our manager. Constant whinging about anything and everything.

Even his latest MOTD interview <doh>

He’s helped lay to rest any semblance of an argument about who’s been the best manager in the history of the PL.

One of the funniest thing you can do online is watch certain video's of matths with subtitles. Honestly it blows the machine to bits and can't keep up...

Think there used to be a thread about it.

A lot of Utd fans are simply not fooled by his bullshit, he needs to stop talking and get on with the job but his ego wont allow it.

See I enjoy his antics at times...but now he just sounds like a stupid narcissistic cock sucker. If it was about history for this man then he would not have joined Chelsea all them years ago.

Remind him of that and shut the door on the ****s face.

For me, the guy’s obviously got something. You don’t win all the stuff he’s won with clubs in several countries by not knowing what you’re doing.

It’s starting to look though as if he’s going down the same road as Whinger. He’s had success with what he’s been doing and is so arrogant that it doesn’t cross his mind that he’s been sussed and needs to look again at how he’s setting teams up.

In his world he’s still ‘The Special one’

He's coming over as an even bigger arsehole now than he ever did as the chavs boss and, as we know, that takes some doing!

A bit like Wenger he had innovative ideas at the start but hasn’t been able to keep up. Bought a load of big blokes to try and bludgeon his way to the title like he’s done in the past and it’s been semi-successful but not enough now City have set the bar higher than ever.

Unlike Wenger the bloke is a complete **** whether his teams are winning or not at any given time.

If you're that incomprehensible why make you tube videos?

He was saying something about a rat's arse. I turned off at that point as I assumed it was about to turn into a beastiality video. I didn't want to see him ****ing a rat up the arse. Not today.

  17. Mourhino is a tool of the highest order.

He can’t coach, he can only manage other ****ers with egos almost as great as his own.

The problem for him is that the ****ers he has at United aren’t as talented as the ****ers he had at either Real or Chavs, and so he’s taken to slating them - basically calling them ****ers to the media.

He did that at Chelsea in his second stint too... It backfired terribly. To be fair, I fear the day United get a decent manager again because they do have a good squad. With the money they are spending, and a decent manager to steer the ship they would be challenging for titles.

I'm hoping Mourinho gets at least 6th each year so he doesn't get the sack. Any below that and even the modern United with lowered expectations would kick him out.
