Arsene just can't beat Jose, a bit like SAF. 12 games now.

Do you think Arsenal have a psychological block against us in general, or Jose?

It is a pretty amazing record. Just shows the gulf in class between the 2 tactically IMO.

Not just Jose though, Arsenal's record against the big sides is generally poor in the last few years.

To be fair, this is THE board for gloryhunters, plastix and Chelsea newbies, such as yourself, now.

The former glory hunting plastic board, aka Man U, stopped trading in 2013 <ok>

Tactically Jose is genius. Winning within the rules and spirit - he will do anything.

Arsene is a bit of a weirdo, he can see what his team needs, ( some experienced defenders and a bit of size in midfield ) but he never fixes it. Has he forgotten how good Patrick Viera was at running the show? If I were him I'd break the bank to bring in Ya Ya Toure.

Would this be the same SAF that Jose left the country because of and didn`t return until SAF told him he was retiring?

Wenger's too honest for his own good. Everyone knows how he is going to set his side up, as he shouts his philosophy and unwillingness to vary it to the highest heavens.

For a manager like Mourinho, who has no real philosophy of his own and like Stan said is willing to do anything to win, that's just a gimme. He can set his team up purely to counter Arsenal, and know exactly what he needs to do to achieve this, whilst Wenger won't compromise at all in an effort to counter Chelsea.

Tbh it does say something for Wenger's skill as a coach that he ever actually manages to beat a good side with such a rigid and obvious approach to the game.

To be fair to AW, he did change his approach v Chelsea last week, getting his AMs to press and close Matic and Fabregas to stop them controlling midfield. And he stopped his full backs bombing on, so Hazard had to swap with Oscar and play no 10 before he dominated.
The full backs kept Schurrle quiet compared to 6-0. It worked for 30 mins or so, but it meant Arsenal lost their creativity and did not have a shot on target in normal time. Possession was even 48/52

    This!

Goons getting 10 behind the ball right after they went a goal behind was laughable. Reason - we all know - Arsene didn't want another thrashing and he tried to instill some discipline in his team! But with little practice with discipline,Goons were out of shape and had 0 shots on target.
Jose will never pack 10 behind the ball if his team went goal behind, even playing away.

Also - IMO - Arsene is simply managing expectations - he doesn't want to overachieve and get more stick in subsequent seasons.

    Sonny what are you smoking?

Have to confess I only saw highlights of this game. Fair play to Wenger if true, and if he's wised up like this then he does have a real chance, imo, to break the winless run at the Emirates later in the year.

Tho' he'll probably revert to type for that one, for fear of getting booed by his own fans for not being 'attractive' enough <whistle>
