Great news. seems everyone is extending and that can only be good for the club. I ****ing luvs chico.
The 26-year-old, who has been a regular since his £2m move from Genoa last summer, has finalised a deal that now keeps him at the club until 2016. "I'm very happy," the centre-half said. "Everything has gone better than I ever expected considering I only arrived in Wales in the summer. "I have found it easier to settle here than when I moved from Spain to Italy. "The language issue can still be difficult at times, but I'm getting there. My English is improving all the time and I have good communication on the pitch alongside Ash (Ashley Williams), who can also speak a bit of Spanish. "In my debut season the club has won its first major trophy and is safe again for another year in the Premier League. "I had no hesitation in signing a new contract for a number of reasons, but mainly because I can only see the team and the club growing." Chico Flores "It's been a fantastic experience and a massive achievement for the club, both individually and collectively. "I had no hesitation in signing a new contract for a number of reasons, but mainly because I can only see the team and the club growing. "We play good football, which I think suits me, and the warmth of the fans towards me has been unbelievable. To hear them singing my name is amazing; phenomenal. I love them all. "If you put all that together, everything is perfect, and I hope to stay at Swansea for a long, long time." I'd like to say Brilliant
Gotta love Ash! Stuff like that really makes it so important he stays, I think him and Leon are the glue that really holds the "family" together. So chuffed Chico signed the extension, totally sends out the right message to current squad members and potential signings!!
He (Chico) must have picked up a few swear words playing alongside Ash ,theres a mix there, a Brummie type accent swearing a lot, alongside a Spaniard who's trying to learn english ,who'd believed that they weren't long in forming a solid partnership
Awesome news for the club. It protects our assets even further and creates that feel good factor making it a place for other players to look at and consider . Michu and Chico have been stand out players and have improved us greatly. I love chico to bits, he is a total footballer who can do everything with or without the ball, he deserves everything he can get. Ash IMO will be gone in the summer(reading his book right now and there is a sttrong love for brenden and he is also a life long liverpool fan) but chico could be a natural captain who could possibly improve his skills further with the added responsibility. I remember many people slagging the player off early in the season, there were a few of us who thought he had something it was just a question of not doing stupid things on the field, well, he learnt from that and came back a much better player after his suspension. A player that gives us a swagger, a terrace favourite after the first 6 games says it all !! Well done Chico ,well done the board and well done to Laudrup
Liked him from day one ,other than his earlier misdemeanour he's probably one of the most improved players in the squad .Great news for the club and us supporters .I've always liked a fully (fair) commit-emitted centre half and he has that and more in abundance
I'm so paranoid. Every time I read about a contract extension I think it's just to add in a better release clause ahead of a sale in the summer!
It may well be Nifta, lets face it we all think the same, the most important thing is that we are getting players to sign improved deals which protects the club if they do move on, in the past we have really struggled to keep players in contract, its getting alot better now. One thing we know in the premier league is that any player is up for sale. We worry about chico, michu and ash Spurs worry about bale Liverpool suarez etc,etc Im just happy he has signed on
I agree, but at least we will now be handsomely compensated if they do leave. And if the players do leave in the summer then they will deserve a lot of credit for signing the extensions and allowing Swansea to receive a lot of money for them, rather than refusing to sign new contracts and thus leaving on the cheap and leaving us in a mess. Either way, its a win win situation for the club
Correct Valley, its a mark of respect that players do that. Brenden did the same thing in fairness to him, it can be the difference between the club finding a good replacement or a bad one. Everybody wins though i must admit id prefer to keep the likes of Chico ,Ash and Michu rather than see them leave for high amounts of money! Every time we need to replace somebody we enter the unknown and the more new players we sign the more chance of getting a duffer by mistake, nobody can be 100% correct in the transfer market ,laudrup included . Chico and michu have shown themselves to be class on and off the field, time will tell but its nice to see positive news it means alot to the supporters

It's just wonderful news for the club and supporters. Delighted he's staying and he's well on his way to becoming a Swans' legend along with Michu. And I wouldn't mind betting that our Angel was a big factor in both their decisions to extend their contracts, so thanks to him as well.
Agree Ivor, it is nice to maintain the Spanish flavour here in Swansea, it was one of the things i liked best about booby brown shoes, bringing a spanish flavour to British football . Laudrup has taken it further and givien us pride of place in the Spanish football magazines, even on the front cover along side Barca and Madrid ! Swansea can be the perfect stepping stone for Spanish players looking to get into the prem league, rangel and as mentioned ash make the spanish players welcome as do all the set-up but spanish and dutch players to me are a part of the fabric of our club, that splash of flair and technique is something that is a part of our dna now so its always nice to have a couple of them here, hopefully for a long time. serren roberto buaza bessone(spanish colony ) rangel michu chico pablo orlandi gomez A fair few spanish lads there !! probably more than the welsh lot actually !!
His father called him that when he was a kid and its stuck with him according to Chico in one interview I read.
