    overconfidence - much!

against a team who played 120 mins on Wednesday - this is s#!ttiest performance!
Against arguably the worst CB pair in the league..

    Pulls out Mata before Lamps..

Lamps is dreadful to say the least - not just this match for the past few matches..
he can't play every freaking week!
None of us ever rise voice against lamps getting ahead of Willian, Schurrle et al, just coz he is English..
He was a legend who is well past it, now just another ordinary player

Luiz is another pedestrian in the team, wtf?
Could have cost the match well before their first goal! Shambles from him yet again.
Looked like he would rather be on a couch or a beach

Nando, again does nothing - what was that? I guess he thinks he is done what is expected of him for the entire season in just 2 matches..

Looks like Jose will throw the league wide open rather than wrapping it up before New Year!

This is a little bit OTT ... a good example of why it ain't a good idea to post a thread straight after a defeat imo

    Lampard dreadful?
Looks like Jose will throw the league wide open rather than wrapping it up before New Year! mmmm...like that was ever going to happen

This thread is an open invitation to every wum on not606...hard hat time me thinks <laugh>

Have to agree with you on Lampard, starting to take too many touches instead of keeping the tempo going.

For me, Luiz deserves some credit for at least trying to get the team going forward.

Luiz, Lampard and Torres . . . everyone wants to have a go at them all the time, but for me Oscar was shocking, can't remember him being on the pitch, Ashley Cole was terrible, Bertrand should be getting a chance and Eto'o, despite Torres's below par performance, was not much better.

And is it me or does Cech start to just forget to dive for shots

totally agree with you on Cech, against City he got beat easily near post from 18 yards!!

he just saves what is hit straight at him, unlike Turnbull - that is the upgrade

Lamps gets in ahead of Willian and Shurrle because he plays in a completely different position <doh>

Major overreaction, we had a poor game because our mentality was wrong, not because of the quality of our players ffs.

I praised Luiz, at least he looks like he wants to win when we concede.

Lampard is not a liability but he should not be playing every game, this was a game made for Mikel to control the midfield whilst Ramires did all the running.

As for Cech, it just seems he could have done better with Aguero's goal last week and did not dive for either goal today.

I don't want to blast the players but when they play awful you cannot excuse them on reputation.

so you think I don't know different position???
we have Mikel / Ramires / even Oscar to play Lamps position

yes Even Essien would be lot better than this Lamps!

You're team is just so boring to watch under JM - shocking considering the flair you have.

    That's not a dig, it's reality.

Maybe. We haven't got any excuses though! If we can get though our carling cup qf, would love you in the semi.

What allocation would you give? 6,000??

Good summary, they are all good players, but I think Jose has been very kind to Lamps in particular. He is a 1 game a week player now for me. Cech is just not at his best, and Luiz as you say ,at least tries to get us going. I think Ashley Cole is playing poorly again, all back passes and stopping the momentum. Not singling these guys out, it was poor from everyone, and good from Newcastle.

This has to be down to the manager then, he is responsable for preparing them correctly.

It's a loss; not a crisis. The only thing that really worries me is Lampard's continuous starting and Cech.

Second place crisis  all teams lose games they are expected to win every season. Lampards game time needs managing and as for your keeper, there is very little wrong with him but if he starts to fade you have a lad in Spain who (in my opinion) could be the best keeper in the world in the next 2-3 years.

    mild and fair summary.

but Lamps is not even a game a week player, anymore. he played last Sunday and played this Saturday - still looked completely useless..

would personally go for Ivan & JT at CB and get Cesar some playing time.
Ivan's crosses were very bad today and he is way better than Cahill & Luiz

Interesting how we see things differently. Given we need 2 players for each position, we are looking very good in all but two spots. Cech and Schwartzer are both great players. For me Ivan is best at right back with Azpi the heir apparent, ditto Ashley Cole and Bertrand, though Bertrand is very close behind now. We need another young and quick CD. Cahill and JT are too slow together, Luiz is too quick for either of them but has more talent than both combined. He gets caught out because neither Cahill or JT are quick enough to stay with him and help out. So another CD
We have no control in mid field. Obi is our best holding mid, but not creative. Ramires' talents lie in attack.Lamps is Lamps, good part timer. So 2 more mids, and /or De Bruyne or ripVan winkle whatever he's' called, Oscar might turn to very good as well but is too slight.
Attacking mids we have in droves, and we need a striker. I said 2 spots, make that 3. If we see some kids, we just might have what we need already in Kalas, Chalobah etc etc.
