A player who played for you for quite a while Jordan Stewart has signed a new contract with the SJ Earthquakes. http://www.sjearthquakes.com/news/2014/02/stewart-finds-firm-footing-club-renews-contract I watch SJ since I live in Northern California. I thought maybe you all would appreciate the link. For the MLS Stewart is a hell of a player and the SJ fans love him. He really is a rock in the back 4.
I thought he was brilliant for us but that was 10 years ago. I'm glad he's performing well in the States. He scored the first goal at our new stadium.
They like to highlight that he played for you and pretty much every game they mention it. Could be that Stewart scores the first goal in a new stadium again. SJ is going to start playing in their new stadium a few months into the season. When they were building the stadium they ended up finding a whole bunch of nuclear bunkers under the field so the stadium opening was delayed a bit. Imagine the odds you could have gotten all those years ago on Stewart scoring the opening goal in a new stadium twice in his career.
He looked a really good player when he broke through and scored some important goals during our promotion season He got too big for his boots and his career went downhill after that
Seem to remember that he used to dislocate his shoulder if he sneezed. He is the only player that I have ever seen make a tackle and then run down the tunnel straight after.
He is a LB but it is more of a LW. He playes the LB roll but as soon as SJ gets the ball he does an overlapping run with the LW and switches positions. I dont just mean an overlapping run when the LW has the ball. Even if the ball is on the RW they tend to switch positions. Stewart is the one who crosses the ball into the box and not the player who is the actual LW. If you werent paying attention to what the formation was when the other team had the ball you might think that Stewart was the LW. He came in on a 6 month contract so he hasnt had a lot of time to get injured but he has seemed to be to be a pretty tough player. He gets fouled a lot because his skill level is higher than most of the MLS players out there. I cant remember him ever coming off in injured last season.
Stewart broke through here as a winger. Once Micky Adams finally realised Alan Rogers was nothing more then a useless fat **** Stewart starting playing as a wing back.
