I know you shouldn't judge someone on 1 game( Goodness knows, I've been banging on about not being too harsh on Bruce) but Henderson looked, today, like a boy amongst men. Does anyone else feel, the move to Liverpool, could be one mighty mistake for Henderson?

The best bit of business we've done so far, the kid is well out of his depth, TBH i always thought he was out of his depth with us, he probably needed another season in the reserves to mature, unfortunately injuries dictated that we needed him in the first team.

I only ever saw him have a few good games, the rest of the time he was ordinary, in fact very negative in his style of play.

He can cry in his wallet I suppose. I think it was great business for Sunderland, especially when we got Larsson, Vaughan and Gardner and kept the change.

I think on a personal level, for him, the move was a mistake. If he wanted to come back, I'd welcome him with open arms.

The reaction down here to the lad has been nothing short of bullying. the problem the lad was always going to face when allocated the right wing role was that the kopites were always going to judge him against their beloved Mr Kuyt. Ive tried to explain to most reds down here that the lads best position is probably central midfield, alas I dont think hes ever going to get a chance in that position. Anyway the condemnation of the lad is gathering pace down here at a rapid pace, in both the local radio and printed press...with a bit of luck we might be able to re sign the lad for a third of his origional price to Liverpool

The kid needs time, we got good money but he will turn out to be a top player and I for one wish him all the best.

Really? I always thought he looked much more dangerous and creative when played on the wings...

....as long as we don't have to give them 20 million! I honestly rate Henderson though and I think he's been a miss. He is only going to get better, Liverpool have the squad to rest him too. Sadly we didn't.

Was decent before that England-France game. But after that lesson he got from the French midfield he has never picked up form. Was shocking for the under 21's.

You know someone is out of their depth when you feel sorry for them.

Problem is his short passing game is next to awful. He can't get out of tight spaces or control and turn to find a pass. Got a masterclass of how you do that by Modric today.

Thought he was ordinary for us. £20 mill is an obscene amount of money for the kid and for me £15 mill over the top. We got a fantastic deal but still wish him well. I'm sure he will learn from Gerrard.

I think the main problem is that he isn't good enough at anything really. I know he provides energy but what exactly does he do? What is his role?

hes always gonna have a HUGE amount of expectation with his price tag, i don't think he can handle it sadly, if hes given time maybe he'll be great, not a CM though.

Fergie seemed keen when he first started playing well for Sunderland then that interest died as the season went on. There is not a better judge of players then that guy. So, yep a massive waste of dosh.
