We are one of the worst sides in our league, we are joint bottom.. Do you remember these words.. Faith/Learn/Painful/Believe... Or these headlines.. Get stronger/Winners from Cotts down/Benefit with time.. Or .. * Intimidated by reputations.. * Meet the challenge.. * One chance. * Step up a level.. * Impose themselves.. * and......."a League One team in the Championship" and admits the process of assimilation could take all season. * Oh and I forgot the best one MAGNIFICENT.. I believed every word of every sentence, it was all waffle and I am speaking from the bottom up of our league, less talk and prove we can cope with a higher league or have we all been taken for fools. please log in to view this image
The pressure pot is building,do we blame the board or manager. something is wrong at the gate. This takes me back to the season after we lost too Hull in the playoff final. The following season was a disaster.
I think most fans sense there is something wrong at the club not necessarily just down to finance or lack of. One thing which stands out is the excuses from SC. Today was, we looked tired as we had been on the road? They stay in swanky hotels and are treated like kings not B&Bs. Our away trips included Brum that I commuted to from Bristol everyday for work for years. The biggest delusion was that we only need a small squad of quality players. The reality was we need a large squad of quality players fit for the championship. We have ended up with small squad of poor quality. Did SC tell SL that the squad was good enough? Or did SL say you will have to make do with what you have got?
Brum to Bristol is just over a hour,Preston to Bristol just over three hours on a coach poor little boys, that excuse does not stand up. Why not come out with the truth, stop molly coddling, say the players were poor, and my tactics are wrong. You would get more respect from that.
We looked unorganised and no one seemed to know where they were supposed to run or press. We need to sort out a clear set of motion and formation again.
The ne'er do wells lurking in the back corridors of Ashton Gate are alive and well. These are the same demons that have haunted Bristol City since Steve Coppell exited stage left and David James became our goalie. If you don't know what you're doing then leave it those who do and stop stamping on the dreams and intelligence of your faithful supporters who deserve better than you are giving. I can't ever see those demons disappearing any time soon and yet here we are again second guessing our management on how they are so useless at running a football club.
