All started for Norwich today. Our League 1 midfield that only just got us promoted to the Championship after bottling the post-Christmas period.

So how are they doing for Norwich?

Well, after 20 minutes of the second half, they are 3-0 down to Fulham and Snoddy has just been substituted.

When they played together in League 1 they were weak. I expect glimpses of brilliance but also long periods in games where they are completely ineffectual

Johnson's ****, but Snoddy and Howson are class. Can hardly blame two attacking midfielders for Norwich's defensive failings.

Midfielders are there to protect the defence aswell as attack and our old league one midfield always failed in that regard

So I assume you'll want Diouf to be constantly back tracking? Defending simply isn't Howson and Snodgrass' job, Johnson however...

Howson has only played about eight games for Norwich yet so too soon to say if he'll make it in Premiership. Still think Snoddys lack of pace will be his shortfall. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see them all back in the Championship next season or that upset either if I'm totally honest

Yes and from what I saw he did, even when he had replaced RM up front

How can you expect to have a good team if two of your midfielders won't defend?

Defending is a team game, if you play with the idea that only defenders and holding midfielders defend, you'll get ripped apart. Football's evolved, all players are expecting to participate in all phases of play, be that defending, attacking, ball retention, whatever, you name it. <ok>

Diouf will track back a lot more than Snodgrass ever did.

You'll have to excuse me next week if I come over here and post something as witty as this (<doh>) if we beat QPR with Snodgrass scoring and Howson getting man of the match.

Judging by the way QPR played today, they're still championship standard, so whatever Snodgrass and Howson do against them is virtually irrelevant! <laugh>

There is no doubt that will happen occasionally and it may take some time for you to see the issues. Believe me we had years of it <ok>.

Look out for the post Xmas slump

I'd say they're feeling not too bad considering they're in the PL and we're not.

Nevermind Norwich losing 5-0, of more concern as I visit my Mother in Law in Norwich was the lack of pubs showing the mighty whites beating Wolves. Typical!!! At least LUTV didn't let me down

Hopefully they will just remember the humiliating record home defeat to Forest last season and that should make them feel a little better
