Liverpool's line up was intended to be nearly all out attack and they simply stopped us playing for large chunks of the game with one wave followed closely by another so I am not sure we were too bad, just on the back foot for 30 minutes or so in the first half and again the last 10 minutes or so. We did, however, give the ball away far too easily on many occasions which allowed Liverpool to come forward once again. Perhaps it was a little bit of fear or nerves creeping in.

I agree, his been let down by the defence on a few occasions take the goal Liverpool scored on Saturday was slightly unfortunate as the ball deflected off Martin into the path of Bellamy, then Tierney got in Ruddy's way in my opinion, but in fairness to Tierney he was trying to get a block in but ended up obstructing Ruddy's view. If we're to keep clean sheets this season we need to deal with our defenders positioning sometimes, we've sorted out the nerves and mistakes we were making in the first couple of games, but apart from that the four at the back have been excellent. We're due and deserve a clean sheet soon.
irrelevant now of course but did anyone notice that suarez was offside in the build-up to bellamy's goal? it was marginal but half a yard is still offside! bizarre that liverpool created so many good chances through some lovely football, but their goal came from a slightly dubious punt down field.
They absolutely bossed us Suarez & Bellamy were a constant worry, it didn't help that we gave the ball away a lot when we had it. I think we gave Gerrard & Adam a bit too much respect in centre sometimes. Two players who have been excellent this season didn't impress me yesterday were in midfield, Johnson gave away possession too much he seemed clumsy and even though Fox was stringing his some passes together he seemed to back out of challenges defensively. It was a big game though so I'll let them off.
