A definite "No" to Neil Redfern at Charlton - look at the improvement that Neil Warnock got out of the same group of players at Rotherham. Why have Redfern when Warnock is available? @DonCorleone - Warnock may well want £20k a week - but does the owner want to spend £1m to get us out of League One at the first attempt. Getting Warnock for a year will cost less than 50% of what we paid for Naby Sarr
I agree that he would be the best appointment, but I doubt Roland would: pay 20x what Karel was on, allow Warnock to do his job as he wishes and Warnock will not go down to league 1.
Rich "Cut and Paste Meire's dictation" Cawley reporting that talks are happening with Nigel Adkins. Meire is just Googling these people. The guy is a failure and a non entity FFS !!
I'd like Adkins. Not the greatest of times at Sheff Utd but his work for Scunny and Soton in this division was amazing.
Largely academic, we could have Jose Mourinio, but if he has to play Roland's Team & ask Ms Meire if he can go to the toilet which is how the set up appears to be then he won't be successful. Let not get distracted from the main point Roland & his woman have to go.
Like Ted says, the manager (head coach) is irrelevant. A worker is only as good as his tools, in our case they are fisher price tools. We also have an interfering owner, incompetent CEO and a threadbare back room staff. I literally can't see what difference having Adkins, wilder or Ancelloti would make.
Thats why I would want Warnock, you just know that he would not take any sh1t from Day 1. Imagine after Warnock's first pre season training session at Charlton, picking up the phone to Meire.. "Eh Katreeeen luv, these new Network players Roland sent me are fookin sh1te"
Has Jason Euell got enough badges yet? Just asking because if they want popular and cheap and from in the network - and also a PR coup then Euell with JJ as player coach is blindingly obvious to me. Not saying I want it - I wouldn't be upset but too big a leap of faith against the likes of Adkins or Warnock. But then leap of faith just about sums up all four of our Belgian/Israeli friends.
I don't want Adkins...!! His managerial career has been on the skids for a few years now. Warnock is THE ONLY MAN FOR THE JOB...!!
I'm happy for Adkins as I'm still worried about network crap coming in. Reading was a tough job at that time, but no denying he underachieved at Sheff Utd.
