I read a great article recently suggesting that 'middle England' loves a working class hero - a council house intellectual. It intimated that JB fitted this mould, but that his recent behaviour suggests otherwise.

JB will always have an audience and therefore it's a safe bet that he'll be able to generate an income come what may. Not many footballers can claim that.

If all else fails, expect a book and the usual round of TV appearances; I can just see him now squaring up to Graham Norton......

Had hoped Joey would contribute something special to the leadership of our team. Not happening is it? Needs to go and sort himself out. Not fair he should do it on our time.

He is showing a complete disregard for all his done whereas he should be grovelling and making amends - I think he's already left in his head (after I stuck my neck out and said that we shouldn't absolutely write him off if he was prepared to make it up to the club and fans).

Belfast - as the resident psychologist, do you have any insights into Joey that you'd like to share (what is anti-social behaviour disorder for example)?

The school I worked in had a psychologist and I remember one teacher saying to her about all the disorders such as ADHD and ODD that the only thing most of the kids suffered from was LFBS, Little F*cking Bastard Syndrome!...<laugh> Joey's obviously graduated with letters after his name...C.U.N.T...

Matt; A person with antisocial personality disorder may:

•Be able to act witty and charming
•Be good at flattery and manipulating other people's emotions
•Break the law repeatedly
•Disregard the safety of self and others
•Have problems with substance abuse
•Lie, steal, and fight often
•Not show guilt or remorse

Sound familiar Joey?

Belfast, am I right in thinking that personality disorders are untreatable, as opposed to schizophrenia or bipolar disorder? Which I know are not 'curable' as such.

Sociopath springs to mind with our subject today, a lack of empathy with others but not necessarily stupid, definitely cunning.

Yeah SB. Sociopathic is equally probable. Your personality is usually fairly firmly fixed by about 18- 20yrs old. It can be treated(some would argue with this) by Psycho-education, ie. explaining to the person the nature of the condition and how it can effect their thoughts and, ultimately, thier behaviour.
Anger management and living in a therapeutic community setting may help too, however, it never really "goes away". Prognosis.....poor. Extremely likely to constantly repeat the same mistakes, but then, we kinda know that with Joey anyway.
