Maybe an effective player but "class act?" Is this a case of our common language having completely different meanings on either side of the Atlantic?
No he doesn't. On the pitch, he's a class act. He holds the opposition attack up well, can spread the ball, & even scores the odd goal or two.
Did not quite look like a class act with his cheap shots and attempts to get others sent off in last season's final game against Man City, just for one example.
