The head was never gone at any stage, once I'd been sent off, one of our players suggested I should try to take one of theirs with me. It never worked but god loves a trier." Fair enough in my opinion. If your gonna go, go out fighting
James Pearce‏@Pearcesport Interviewed QPR Chairman Tony Fernandes. He says club carrying out investigation into Barton yesterday, but doesn't rule out player staying
Thing is Swords if we do "sack him" every player who wants to break their contract will start smacking people. Make him stay and play with the youth team, he may learn a thing or two about maturity & behaviour. If he's a really good boy let him "play" in the reserves. This boy has cried wolf to many times. (maybe as we pay his wages make him work in the club shop - see how he like's dealing with "emotional, frustrated people". #gone in a week Now does anyone else thing that JB got to see an advanced copy of "The Dictator" and thought it was his anger managment homework? Now lets stop all in the in fighting and focus on sending K.Dyer healing thoughts!
Did Barton get a three or a four year contract in the first place? If he got a three year deal we still owe him almost £7 mill in wages for the duration of his contract. If we managed to give him a four year deal though, it's a whopping £10 mill still owed to him. Can't see how we can get rid unfortunately.
Think I read he was with us to 2014. But I'm not sure I follow this - surely if we can sell him whatever we get will be pure profit because we got him for free. Sure we have paid his probably high wages but then that is a running cost that we have for any player on a contract. I have seen rumours that West Ham are interested, which may or may not be b*ll*x, but I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't other PL Managers who reckon that they can keep Joey in line and get good solid performances out of him.
I genuinely feel Bartons position is now untenable at Rangers. Surely, every game now our opponents Manager is going to instruct players to get in his face, niggle him, get a reaction, get him red carded and walk away with all 3 points. Just don't see how we can continue to play someone who is going to be such a clear target every game?!
Barton only started to play for the team after he was booed off against Liverpool. After that he put in a decent shift and I reckon he played his best for us against the Gooners and Spuds. He'd stopped tweeting and stopped verbally abusing Adel and got on with his job, even rated as MOTM in some games. What on earth went wrong yesterday?! Who is the other player that was meant to have said "even things up" by getting a reaction after the red card? There are types of footballer, types of manager and types of fans. Barton is a type of player that ruins any good work by his antics on and off the pitch. There are managers who will excuse these antics and try to justify their actions, there are supporters who will turn a blind eye. I don't know how many chances Barton needs and, frankly, I don't care. He can be given another chance by another team, he's not welcome at Rangers. I hope Sparky is the kind of manager that won't sweep the poor reputation under the carpet and stands up for what is right & that he gets the backing of the club if he wants shot of Barton. I never wanted Barton at QPR and trying to give him the benefit of the doubt has back-fired. He obviously can't change his spots and I hope TF can find a clause in the club's charter that means Barton can be sacked for gross misconduct or bringing the club into disrepute. If we are meant to be that rich then pay him off, anything but let him play for us again because he WILL f*ck us over again if he's given another chance.
This is probably what you wanted bumped Stan. An interesting reminder of who said what after the Man City match and, perhaps, a reality check to those who would welcome Cerny back. In case any one is interested, I've not changed my opinion.
