I think it would be great if we could give him another chance if we could, but I don't see our Club can. The main reason he's a cancer in the dressing room, secondly if he plays again he'll be a target for every opponent he meets who wants to try and have him off again - kicked off or carded off, and lastly he will be out so long he's no use to us anyway. Best for us is that he goes as quick as possible. For Barton I hope he does find another Club outsde the PL and probably outside England willing to give him another go. He is a very good footballer but he needs to learn very quick to control his violence, and when he should keep his mouth shut.
Depends on the dressing room, if he is a better influence than we think, then maybe we can give him another chance. He's sending off against Norwich was bullshit, so I don't see him as a serial offender on that front. However, if he is as divisive as rumours suggest then we need to get rid. Judging by the other comments on here, most fans also want him gone.
Oslo, how do we know he is a cancer in the dressing room? Other than people GUESSING on here? I'm not saying he's not but the point is we don't know, hence the point in my post that I'll accept whatever decision the club make as they will do it with the full knowledge of all the facts.
I was very doubttful when some on here were calling him similar last autumn when he was supposedly perpetually giving Adel a hard time, but I saw enough of his twitter back stabbing attacks on Colin quoted on here to make me believe that it was all true. But you're right, I don't know for sure, and how it was towards the end of last season I don't know, but still I'm pretty sure he is a cancer, and doubt that will change for a while. I said on here in January we should get rid of him end of season for this reason, and he has done nothing to change my mind since! I have often defended his performances on the pitch on here because he seemed to get a lot of criticism that his running and work on the pitch didn't warrrant for me. I don't think he should have got a red against Norwich and he was then badly provoked against City. I'm OK with him as a player, it's himself that's the problem and I don't see now that we have a choice, we got to get rid of him. I'll be surprised to see him in our shirt again.
Fair do's mate, I'm not trying to defend him. It just winds me up when people speak with apparent fact but don't know the truth. Certainly prior to the city game he was well thought of by most and appeared to be going in the right direction. Post city game I can only go on twitter and the like that saw him enjoying a good end of year celebration and banter with a number of the team. Hence why I say I let the club decide, I'm bored of the whole debate!
He was great from when he came back after the Liverpool game until Tevez wound him up. But yeh the Club will decide, and I hope soon and he's off!
can some one explain to me what he has done to be called gross miscondact. players do stupid things on the pitch all the time. i dont think you can call what he did gross miscondact. also it cant be his court case coming up as he is still innocent as he has to be proved guilty. the only thing i can see them saying is that they cant put in the squad for the first part of the season there for he can not do what they have employed him for. but that is plucking at straws
How about gettign into a fight in a bar in liverpool. Does this not bring the name of the club into disrepute or something.? Not sure but i'm sure with his previous record, they could make something stick?
but this still has to be proved. he was saying they started on him you cant sacking for being started on.
Where do you work? I'd like a job there. It must be good to be able to kick and headbutt people at work and then go on Twitter slagging off public figures who question your actions - and all without being in danger of a gross misconduct charge.
It's necessary to distinguish between criminal and civil actions, and the different burdens of proof. In a criminal action, the case against the defendant has to be proved beyond reasonable doubt. In a civil action, it has to be proved on the balance of probability. So QPR would have to show that Barton is "probably" guilty of gross misconduct, bringing the club into disrepute etc. Since the case could go either way, I doubt either the club or Joey would want it to go to trial. Hence, hopefully, Joey will take a (not excessive) pay out and move on with his career.
You are 100% correct but I know the FA will use the court case failure as a reason to not charge him with anything. Despite the proof of guilt being entirely different in each case.
