I know it's probably been done to death but how stupid are our reckless owners.Yes fair enough some brinksmanship from Willie McKay but do they not realise that you cannot sell your best players first Carroll, Barton no doubt Enrique it's just suicide as you just cannot easily go out and replace the quality and like Barton or not good footballing attitude. I am convinced that KK called it right on ESPN Ashley will go full tilt to get as much of his money back as possible he dosen't care who he sells or what message this sends out.At the end of the day we have heard loads of bull from Partridge as mouthpiece and no doubt he will be wheeled out all summer with we have bids all over the place nothing happens and suddenly we are back to square one. I have never heard or read anywhere from Ashley or Del boy that they will spend one penny the guys a fraud who has and will continually shaft our club while it suits his purposes. What the **** did we do to deserve that fat tub of lard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<grr>

If Barton and his agent are asking for too much then maybe it's not Ashley's fault. Right now nobody really knows why, just gotta cross fingers

It could be like nufc.com said, it may be that the club have not offered him a "new" contract meaning not new to the contract that was offered previously. Who knows.

I'm usually positive but this has pissed me off. It seems that the club aren't going to make any attempt to keep JB (appologies if this is wrong, I've been otherwise engaged today and am just picking up on the news and may have read it wrong.) If so, that's going to have a possible knock on with Nolan. With Jose almost certaintly going, Colo could decide it's time to move on..lots of ifs and buts there, but it's a possibility. If players see other key members being off loaded/the club making no attempt to keep them, then it's only natrual they'll re-examine their own position.
So in less than a week since the end of the season we could be in a situation where instead of thinking we're going to be adding quality players to a really good spine of a team, (JB, Nolan,Jose, Colo) and pushing on from 12th, we could be looking at the entire spine being ripped out of the team, which will set us back two or three years. Maybe theres a plan and it's one step back to take two forward, but from bitter experience, somehow I don't think so.
Even if some of the players (Colo and JB) are on high wages that don't fit in with the club pilocy, you would hope that the feckers running our club had the nous to understand that in the longer terms it'd make sense to keep them on regardless while they embed new signings a bit at a time over a couple of seasons, rather than have a fire sale and bring in a whole bunch of players that will have to work out how to play as a team and get to know eachother.
Of course if they do sign players that are better than what we already have, then all well and good, but if we end up going for players like Seb Larrson replacing Barton, Upson relacing Colo, Carlton Cole replacing Carroll, we're ****ed.
On a brighter note, I've had sex five days in a row.

I've been thinking about it while i was at work and decided this is the most likely senario

The contract negotiations are still at the same stumbling block as they were a month ago. His agent has got fed up and decided he needs to do something to speed up the negotiations, because newcastle know they can't really loose Barton he's hoping they'll panic and rush out a new contract. However Ashley knows this and is now trying to play hardball as well.
Basically i think they're both bluffing and Barton doesn't plan to leave and Newcastle don't plan to loose him

    hopefully

The only reason I can see why they're being dicks is because when his contract runs out, he will be almost 30 and we're trying to build I young squad. Other than that this is just ridiculous.

Let's be honest, no matter what is being said it's more than likely that we don't know the whole situation. Either party could be to blame.
