Tall and quite robust, not the quickest but agile enough for this level. Very good direct free kick taker. Recently a tad injury prone.
Joe Martin always seems to get mixed opinions. A lot of people will say that he's a good League 2 player but not good enough for this level. Others will say he's more than good enough at this level. Me - he's certainly one of the best left backs we have had for a few years. Not awfully quick mind you but defensively solid enough for a mid table League One side. Whether he will thrive in a promotion chasing so for this league? I'm not so sure but he's a safe enough pair of hands for the Left Back role in this league anyway.
