Aye, I saw that too. But then again, if Hart had tried to establish himself in the Utd team under the same level of scrutiny as young keepers like Foster and De Gea have had, would he have ended up as good as he did? He made a lot of blunders in his early City career and on loan at Brum, but they weren't highlighted so it didn't become an issue for him like it might have done if he'd been at Utd.

Valid point, he's still made a few this year, but no one ever talks about. He would have had even less of a chance trying to get games with VDS ahead of him.

IIRC it wasn't long ago that Fergie was saying not signing Cech was also a big mistake? Seems that before De Gea he never wanted to sign a keeper lacking experience hence missing out on Hart and Cech.

I dunno, he was happy to sign Culkin for £100,000 back in 1995 when he was just a kid. Seems to me he decided to go for Foster over Hart at the time.

I'm not that fussed that we missed Hart - De Gea's shot-stopping is just as impressive and by the time he's played as many PL games as Hart, I'd expect his command of the area to be far better.

Quite a few of the saves Hart has had to make were because he fu.ked up a few moments earlier.

To be honest, Foster was a good keeper, it was the media's fault too why he wasn't successful, even when he made one small mistake, you would see that in the front cover of news, they didn't even give him no chance, he had too much pressure, just like what's the media's doing on de Gea now, they ain't giving him time, they are slacking him off at every chance they get, they make him have alot of pressure

I like Hart.I know it's all hypothetical cos he wouldn't get in front of VDS. But if City do win this season its because he has been one of there better players.

My point exactly. I wonder how Hart would've done if he'd had every mistake highlighted to the same extent...

I agree with this, Hart has made some great saves this season which has saved Man city plenty of points. For e.g., last weekend against Villa, Hart made a wonderful save from Bent's header in 2nd half stoppage time.

True, love the media crusade against De Gea after he makes a mistake but don't report on some of the fantastic saves he has made for us.

The last minute save from Mata's free kick was the best anyone will see all season.

They usually do talk about his saves, but it is often missed because it's sandwiched in between insults and cheap shots.

I don't think you'll find a young keeper that doesn't. The difference between Hart and others is that he doesn't let it fk with his game, it probably drives the guy on even harder in training, each mistake is a lesson that exposes something you were not doing right, De Gea was rattled by it, Foster let it bother him also.

The modern game is probably tougher for keepers now, Foster and De Gea like Hart are good keepers, Hart has more.. well.. heart.

vDS. Another that can be rattled if he makes an early mistake. The only edge he has over Hart is experience, I reckon Hart can be better, vDS was not always a top drawer keeper in his career but was brilliant at the end but he had some truely woeful games worse than anything I've seen Hart do lately. trying to catch a ball and letting it bounce out of your hands and over your head to a forward to tap in, priceless:) Auld Edwin had his comedy value as good as he was.

Hart has a presence in the box, the guy is going to be top drawer, like Iker at Real I reckon, that guy is a great keeper, mistakes n all
