I got it. Started reading it. Thoroughly enjoying it. No finished it yet.

It's clear he understands how to write.

He builds a story using well known technical devices (flashback, forethought, insight, presight, etc) but what is impressive is that he has an excellent understanding of narrative (leading you through the story via those devices). He truly does.

Zero purple prose (pay attention Dan Brown, ya fanny)

I should have waited till am finished reading it to give my review but am so damn jealous I couldny wait.

    The **** is damn good.

I spent my childhood writing stories. Then into my teens, still writing stories. Then into my 20's, still writing stories. Then I realised my stories are ****e and I didn't have the talent to actually write anything other than a story. I really did want to be a writer. It was my dream. Lack of talent meant I ended up writing computer code instead which really is quite creative when you come to think of it. Aye, it ****in is. <grr>

So, enough about Jip, and more about me.

He makes it seem simple. That's a high compliment. It means the talent of narrative is innate, and without the talent of narrative a writer is nothing (Dan Brown, ya fanny)

So, Jip, I ****in hate ye with a jealousy that burns brighter than Tina's clit when her washing machine is on full spin.

Seriously, am enjoying it, yer a writer, updates to follow....

Thanks for my best review yet, Gambol. I've half a mind to walk out of work, catch a train down to London and show this to the eight ****er agents who feel that my book is "not for them" <grr>
    I am genuinely touched <gay>

It's even better than MD's "Ah thought it was gonny be pish but it's no" <laugh>

I still don't know what it's about or what it's called - appreciate Jip's venture in to being a published author, but can't help feeling it's a cowardly and untrusting move to not have a thread on GC about it.

This I understand. He could destroy all that you hold dear and, indeed, any chances of your book succeeding further.

Or, you could just ask Beale directly not to do it.

Still waiting for the bird to read it and summarise it in a sentence or two - will leave a review come the time.
