What a great bloke he is. After stead left I thought it would be a while where a player has a close connection with the fans but JET has come straight in and become a fans favourite. If you don't follow him on twitter, That's where you will see most of his great work with the fans. Ever since he has come in he interacts with them and gives away free tickets fairly often, Like he has for tonight's game. A great signing by SOD and a great person to have in our team. Yes great lad, great player but sometimes his cockiness on twitter annoys me a bit But if we had 11 JETS on the pitch we'd be in the championship in no time
Just learned this also "JET offered a pair of signed boots to a young follower who gained the best GCSE results" This was last week. Top bloke
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas ‏@OfficialJET10 10h Chhhheeezzzeeee great result today I'm on a buzz right now i cant sleep lol #WWWWEEEEDDDDD #bcfc. I LOVE YOU FANS SO MUCH ❤
He really knows how to get in with the fans I think MM at Ipswich is a bit of a psychic he said selling JET to us might be a massive mistake and I hope he remembers that when we beat Ipswich in the Championship on our way to the Premiership LOL. Though to be serious I think that if Sean builds City round JET we might just be in for some magical football at the Gate when he gets match fit.
That will be nice-its been a while since our team was on fire but you can definitely see it now. Easily the best since Maynard, and an exciting player indeed, JET is an early candidate for player of the season
Player of the Season is a bit rich, considering we're near the bottom half of the season and we've played four games. That reminds me of those that were praising McInnes and saying that Davies and Baldock were the signings of the season.
I've said on another post, I think he is a fantastic player and pleased that he joined, and by the looks of it a good bloke. But he frustrates the hell out of me with his ability to lose every hearder for a big bloke and sometimes his lack of interest during games. Will judge him fully when we reach the winter months and see if he's a team player.
He will be, he leads will fire and passion in his belly. I reckon the standing ovation he got from every stand in the ground when he demolished us when under SOD at Donny has created a special relationship with our fans. Me i would make him captain no doubt about it. To good for league 1 we have a gem on the books long may that continue he is worth what ever he is being paid.
Davies certainly was, Sam sadly was not fit for a significant part of the season. It was the majority of the old guard that let the new boys down...
Good post, probably sums up what a lot of us Ipswich fans thought of him, on his day, unplayable, on other days so anonymous that we may as well have been playing with 10 men. Nevertheless, I myself would have kept him at Portman Rd, the most talented player that we had...whenever I took my two teenage sons to Portman Rd (neither of them Ipswich fans), the one question that they would ask me on the drive over was "Will JET be playing?"... And you're right, a good lad too, did a lot of community work while he was here, I hope that he can find that application or mental attitude, whatever it is to play at his best in every game coz he'll be one hell of a player if he can do that. Anyway, Good Luck, lads!
It would appear Sam is going to be making up for it this season. His 2 against MK were the classiest finishes I have seen since Pitman or Maynard Sorry for being optimistic, but when this team settle down and start to play I feel some poor set of fans will have to watch their side being dismantled. Shorey will make a difference There we go - now I'm there to be shot at
Lineker didnt like to head the ball either (which is unusual for a central striker), but that didnt stop him being the best English striker of his generation. JET more than compensates for that with his ability and flair. He gives a magical thrill because anything can happen and it feeds to his teammates. JET is a very rare commodity for an Englishman, one who can supply 'fantasy', as Platini describes it, and i'm afraid he could find himself in a higher strata quite quickly. For that reason I agree wholeheartedly with RedRobin, make him captain. If he's no good at it SOD can always move it on to someone else (Flint ? Pack ? Baldock, Kelly who is my personal fav for the role). With Kelly back in the new year and Shorey coaching our young defence, there could be a very solid look about Bristol City by the end of this campaign
Baldock seems to be very well suited to being captain so in my opinion, leave well alone. It's very unlikely that we'll see Kelly at all this season.
