Is signing permanently for Ipswich! I'd rather have him than Adebola, should we be gutted that we didn't bid for him? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14275393.stm
He looked a good player at Cardiff, and I did hope we'd go for him before we got Adebola. Ipswich are looking good...
I agree with the JET sentiment, he does look a talent. However, while Ipswich are spending a lot of money, I'm not sure it will pay off. You only have to look at Boro the last two years to see money (or Scotland) doesn't always buy success.
I agree, we have looked good in pre season especially against Liverpool. Building a team around a target man like Emmanuel-Thomas would only encourage us to play the long ball, so perhaps Adebola is a better option as he can come on with 20 mins to go and disrupt defences and be more of a super sub. A player like Emmanuel-Thomas would want to start every game thus encouraging the long ball. I like how NP seems to have built a team that can get it down and knock it about
hes just a big lump whos slightly better on the ball, hes no way worth 1.1 million, he didnt massively impress for cardiff, he can play in lots of positions apparently, none of them he excels in, their keeper loan looks a great deal though, would have prefered him to gulasci
I prefer the part about them closing in on Stockdale, isn't that who Leeds are after? They really do look like they're running out of time to blend a team together if the rumours about their outgoing players are true! It's almost sad really... almost Edit: Just seen they're going to sign Lonergan, who was one of few keepers to let in more goals than they did last season...
I thought Emmanuel-Thomas looked fairly poor against us last season, I'd rather have had Iwelumo(and he was available on a free).
For similair money we bought McClean. Would anyone want to do a straight swap? I don't think I would.
JET over Ade would also mean another young head, i like the idea of dele coming on with 20-15mins left to level everyones heads and hold the ball up. Jay would not settle for a bench position.
Understatement of the year, he's crap, awful, pants. Im a Cardiff fan, this guy was a massive dissapointment and his attitude stinks.
Ipswich are more suited to both players as Ipswich is close enough to London for them not to have to move home. He was only a bench warmer @ Cardiff City and his goal at the KC was down tio poor defending and Guzan than good play. Time will tell as always.
