    Alright lads!

Just before I start: Please do not turn this into a Rafa vs Di Matteo article, we have Rafa, let's just deal with it <ok>

Obviously things aren't going great at the moment, hopefully it's just a dip in form and
we can pick up from this and finish top 4 and win a trophy or 2 and finish with another
    good season.

I do think we pretty much NEED 2 signings in January.
We're adapting our style to be a great footballing a team, this team needs a quality
centre midfielder who can pass the ball around and dictate the play.
We also need a centre forward who will score goals and win us games.

Here's 3 realistic options for both on who I think we should buy.

    CM:
    1. Fellaini.
    2. Cabaye.
    3. Moutinho.

    CF:
    1. Falcao.
    2. Lewandoski.
    3. Cavani.

Fellaini & Falcao would be literally perfect in my opinion.

Mikel & Ramires are good but they have no competition & Lamps, Romeu aren't good enough.

Torres is just awful. Maybe have him in the deal when we sign Falcao? If not he can just be sub till
the end of the season. Also Lukaku should stay on loan, he's getting a lot of first team football with
a good team and a great manager in Steve Clarke, he's only 19 and needs this for his development.

By the end of January our team should look like this:

    Cech,
    Azpilicueta, CB, Terry, A.Cole,
    Ramires, Fellaini,
    Mata, Oscar, Hazard,
    Falcao.

    Cahill, Luiz, Ivanovic = CB.

So.....do you think we should sign any one in January?

    <ok>

Don't think you will see Fellaini going anywhere till the end of the season,he said he's happy to stay at Everton if they get European football, and january will come to early to tell

No offence but this seems to be Chelsea's solution to everything, chuck money at the problem. Surely for the amount of money the club has spent over the past couple of years there are enough players on the books to actually try something innovative like working on building a team.

Hopefully Fellaini and Falcao. Wouldn't mind a recall for Kalas or Bruma either.

I agree to a point. But this time last year we had Torres, Drogba, Anelka, Kalou, Sturridge and Lukaku. We now only have 2 of those and have bought no one in that position so we clearly need another striker - much like United buying RVP and selling Berbatoff.

However it shouldn't just be the case of spend spend spend. At some point we have to trust the players we've bought and some of the youngsters.

I think Lukaku needs at the very least the rest of this season at West Brom. He's done a good job and needs to continue his progression under the radar a bit more. If he came back to us he'd either sit on the bench or play and immediately be under pressure to score every game. Not ideal for a 19 year old.

I think Torres has 4 weeks to prove himself capable of turning his form around otherwise we will buy a striker in January. Shurrie, Falcao, Huuntalaar etc.

Next season it would be nice to bring back the likes of De Bruyne, Josh and Lukaku who are having good loan spells to compete rather than spend a load more cash in the summer. We wont win anything without a top striker though. United and City have 3-4 each; arguably we have none.

I'd go for Wesley Sjneider, great controlling midfielder at odds with his current club.
Any striker we get needs to have some size about him to counter our midgets.
Think we should be playing more of our youngsters in comps other than the PL and CL. They are the 2 we need our best players for.

Wages, fee and maybe even age count against a big move for sjneider, though a top player. Moutinho would be a cheaper and younger option perhaps.

For sure Moutinho would be very good, but I think his club have ruled out any transfer, as several others were in for him. Sjneider is still the right side of 30, but he wouldn't come cheap, though cheaper than changing managers every 10 minutes.
Wenger has proven over and over again that you can't win anything with a team of young players. Our "piss off when 30" policy will bite us in the bum.

Not on the wind up but....

Didn't Chelsea struggle to name a 25 man squad this year? didn't you only manage 21 players + youth because you didn't meet the number of home grown players.

So if you're going to sign two johnny foreigners then who are the two getting sold/dropped? and what happens next year when/if Cashley and Fatty leave?

Nice mature contribution there Drogs, its what ive come to expect from you.

You really are incapable of discussing anything in a grown up fashion. Maybe you should get off the internet and go play outside with the other children instead. Or do they beat you up? is that it?

How a halfwit like you made mod is beyond me.

Maybe when you grow up and wear big boy pants we can have a discussion, until then how about "jogging on" as one famous 606er was fond of saying. That way us adults can keep talking without your childish thread derailments.

Anyone else like to talk about Chelsea targets and squad limits?

What is it you like saying drogs?

Its a football forum! You're supposed to visit other boards! Calm down its only banter!

Just because you can't discuss things like an adult doesn't mean you have to stop everyone else from doing so. Very unbecoming for a "mod" to go round destroying threads with petty childish behaviour and insults if you ask me.

Why don't you run along and play in traffic, the world and this forum would be much better off for it <ok>

Absolutely nothing wrong with banter son, but I've never seen you put a serious comment on here so what's the point in conversing with a ******ed plastic troll?

You're a wum, pure and simple.

Hey Ivor, be nice please, there's too much slagging off going on here. If you want sensible debate, ask your question or put your point in a sensible form, i.e., not just putting us down and then asking for our comments. That's too easy. You're on here a lot, so why not try and be part of something constructive and not destructive?? It's only a game, and apart from a few serious drop kicks, most people are sensible and happy to argue the toss without getting nasty.
Now what is it you'd like to talk about ??
