Amazing we can spunk 13m + wages on Mason and apparently 55k per week on Niasse but can't bring in competent, needed players in positions we actually need players.

 

genuine question syd, who would you like us to bring in, who's available striker wise?

 

Dio isn't a waste of space, he gives it his all. That's what you get for just over £1m though

 

Niasse will cost about one million in wages till the end of the season if the figure is correct ... if he's **** we won't sign him and we have gambled a million which in the scheme of the premiership is nothing , if he produces the goals like he did at every other club before Everton ( they only played him in three games) and even Everton's under 23s he's scored goals ... then it's a fantastic deal .. we are not going to get top class strikers proven in the premiership already coming to us and even if they would Ehab won't pay what's needed. I think it's a good gamble for a million pounds he's also been in the uk now for a year so he's used to all the other factors already outside of playing

 

It makes you wonder doesn't it. It must be more difficult than we think it is to see what areas need strengthening.

I actually like Dio. He's not prolific and has the odd brain fart on the pitch, but he's another that works tirelessly for the team. You can't fault him for that.

 

I actually mentioned on my podcast today, I would have looked at Janssen at Spurs. Let him link up with Henrikssen again.

 

I thought you only liked strikers who score? Janssen's goals at spurs have pretty much all been pens haven't they?

 

My criticism of Niasse isn't because he can't score but because he's not PL standard in any form. I love Mbokani and he hasn't scored a goal for us.

You're confusing me for another Aussie poster who obsesses over goals scored.

 

How do we know he's not PL standard? Because Everton have **** on him?

 

Sometimes good at holding the ball up and bringing others into the game is the only plus I can see which isn't good enough in our situation. Trier, yes but not a clue about defending. Thought he was fast but when you see him against others he isn't

 

Because two managers, one who is quite highly rated as having an eye for talent, took one look at him and banished him. You don't banish a 13m pound buy as severely as both managers did without being absolutely sure of it.
