Just been called up to the England Under-19 squad

Great news for the youngster and very promisiing signs!

Gunna be a top, top, top player we all know that and is fully deserving of this call up. It's also a chance for him to get more experience which is also good

    Good Luck to him <ok>

Find it funny how you made this thread on the basis of what I just told you.....I could have been making it up, you didn't even know where I got it from until you asked hahahaha

But yes, good luck to him, top lad!

He deserves it. The "he isn't ready for first team football yet" brigade will be along in a minute.

    Good luck to him.

I could be completely wrong, but I think the u21 Euro's are at the end of the season. Would be great if he could force his way in.

I dunno if it's that he isn't ready, I just don't think he's good enough. Is he good enough right now to displace any of Schneiderlin, Davis and Lallana in the midfield three?

I don't think he is. Good backup though.

Adkins sees him every day in training and thinks he's a great talent. He wasn't phased on Sunday and is very young. He has now been picked for u19s. I'm willing to accept other people's opinion on this.

If he plays in the team consistently and well he'll be called up to the U-21 team in no time. Pearce only really looks at Premier League players.

Good luck to him and well deserved. England are short of good midfielders who actually play first team PL football, so he'll be fast tracked through if he takes his chances. Says a lot about him that we chose to start with him rather than Hammond, Chaplow or a half-fit Davis. Not many 17 year olds will play at the Etihad this season. Our belief in the lad is great to see.
