According the the sun David James will sign with Swindon Town under Paulo Dicanio after being released by City.

It also says 10 others will not have contacts renewed.

I think we are in for a exciting pré season with lots of new signings.

    Lovely jubbly.

Ten sounds like an awful lot. Think there will be some debate over certain names, especially some of the younger players.

The noises being made by DM indicate lots of changes - Jamo's the most obvious?

Looking at the clubs coming down and the ones coming up.

I believe that the Championship is getting a stronger division every season, we need to rebuild the squad completely to compete, we all have our favourites but let's remember our favourites have struggled now for 2 seasons. So we need to prepare for favourites to be missing next year.

He does say that he had a strong back bone within the club, but I'm getting ready for lots of surprises to rebuild and start again.

    Wholsale changes are needed.

Personally after the season we've just endured there are very few I'd even keep

Dont care where he goes as long as he goes as we could have 5 good players for the wages he is on

    Jamo's on £15k a week.

    £3k a week for a good player ??

Lets hope Del can get players in early so they can settle in during pre-season. Great thing is he already knows who he wants to get rid of and probably has a very good idea who he wants to bring in, whereas I have a feeling that the last few seasons has been a case of "lets see which players no one else wants before the season starts, then get them"

I'd rather have 2 good players than 5 cheap/**** ones. Dare I say we could get a good midfielder and a good striker?

What ever you say about James there is no doubt that Gerken has come on leaps and bounds since he has been here. Coincidence?

David James basic pay is £15k but with bonuses he was apparently earning over £20k a week as players receive appearence/clean sheet/win/goal bonuses so its hard to say what a player actually gets, we only know what his basic pay is.

As City at the time offered him the best package to get him to sign what did that include, hopefully nothing to do with travel costs etc.

In all it will save City quite a bit of money not having him at the club next season
