I know he isn't the best player in the world, but he can shoot and is a decent LW and can play upfront. He is on a free, and apparently Wolves are after him: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3796387/Mac-will-give-Mac-his-chance.html Now personally, providing his wages are decent I would go for him. Another number which could do a job for us on the LW. What would you guys think? Hit or miss....
I mentioned this possibility in the summer, and almost posted a thread the other day when I saw a sky report that villa n wolves were considering it. He's had two really bad cruciate knee ligament injuries and missed nearly the whole of last season so its a risk. However if the lad can prove his fitness and pass a medical etc he's worth a punt on a short term deal. left wing: tick. forward: tick. Wouldn't imagine his wages would be massive either.
Well we need someone espacially if Gyan can't be arsed to put any effort in. If Bendtner gets injured we are in dire straights without a recognised striker again. Bruce job depends on us getting goals and he is the manager so no excuses about "its not my fault Gyan wanted to leave" I hope Gyan gets his head sorted and if he wants to go in Jan lets get a striker lined up now?
If he has underlying injury problems I would say no, simply because we have enough of them on our books already.
Pay as you play deal would have little impact if he is out for a number of months, but will he accept it is another thing.
I remember we were linked a few years back, and i was all for it. Since then the injuries have had the lad, badly, so it's a tough call. Maybe a short term deal to Christmas to prove his worth? He IS a talented footballer.
Wouldnt touch him with a ten foot barge pole ! Saw an awful lot of this lad when he was at Everton and you never bloody knew what player you weregetting from day to day, some days great and quite influential other, non existant, unfortunatley most of the time it was non existant. Also lacks any degree of pace whatsoever and more significantly, before he went to Brum he was joint top earner at Goodison with Cahill and Arteta (so you can bet your bottom dollar he l even now still be on half decent wages) Na folks for me hes too much of a gamble
Can't see him wanting to much if he has been out so long, so for me at the right wages/deal worth a punt.
Agree with most said. He has shown glimpses of brilliance in his career but also a lot of nothing too. If he wanted to come for footballing reasons and was prepared to prove that by being sensible with his demands then would be prepared for him to get a chance
