Is it because "the initial terms fell short of his expectations" or is it because he's stalling until he knows if he'll be playing in the EPL next season?
i think in this instance "stalled" means the HDM dont have a story to print yet . . . so hey presto a story appears . Its near genius
Don't think he'll sign until the end of the season, he has to know where we'll be before he can sort himself out & how much he'll be getting. The only way he'll sign before will be after the January window, if this happens, there'll be a release clause in it, maybe the clause is the stalling point on how big it'll be.
If he is sensible, he won't sign a new contract until the summer, when he will know which league we'll be playing in.
We all knew that Bruce had said he wasn't going to renew contracts until he had too. Agent trying to build the profile and get Cesters name out there.
Then again he could think Hull City is the club that took a chance on me when there were hardly any takers and as a show of gratitude and loyalty I will sign an extended contract. Because even if we don't go up, I will still get my chance in the premiership and a team will buy me even if I have along contract at City, plus City will get a better fee for me!
There is nothing to say that his new contract could say ......................... You get xxxxxxx amount in the championship and xxxxxxx amount when we get promoted upto the premiership. Chester and Hobbs are probably the best 2 centre halfs outside of the premiership BUT chester is unproven in the top league. He came here because fergie didn't think he was good enough. Personally, I think IF he keeps improving in the way he has in the last 2 years he will be borderline England player in the future. I hope all the praise that he has being rightly getting isn't starting to go to his head
I'm fairly confident he isn't getting all Billy Big Bollocks, he isn't the type. I also think he'll be getting some sound advice from those around him. I think he'll go onto big things and if he does it could pocket us a few quid. Don't get me wrong I hope he stays for years but the boy is destined to play in the PL. If we don't get promoted this season I hope he stays for at least another year because under Bruce I am very confident it will happen within three years, tops.
Oh No. Not another Chester thread ? but its been a while since we had one. Buckingham and the HDM just muck rakeing again as they cannot get any juicy news. Steve Bruce has said that James Chester wont being going anywhere and why should he ? He is under contract until the summer of 2014. FACT. I dont blame Chester for waiting until the summer and seeing which league City are in. Anyone would do that.
The HDM should do a story about an empty baked beans tin. At least it would be something new for a change. If the hapless and clueless Buckingham has so much time on his hands then how about making up a list of all the striker that we could be looking at ? I bet that Chester is having a right old laugh over this non - story.
