Just read this but don't know how reliable this site's sources are...It would make sense for Corky himself to move on as he appears to be the 5th choice central midfielder now, but, personally, I would be very disappointed to see him go as I believe that he has a lot to offer the team, and is still young. He is too good for the Championship in my opinion and is worth several times the amount that we paid for him.

I would be surprised if clubs didn't come in for him in January. He's an obvious target but if Victor or Morgan pick up an injury he will be back in the first team so I think he wants to stay here.

It just shows how quickly fortunes can change. Last year he was one of the best midfielders in the country, he played for Great Britain as well whilst Lallana was struggling for form. Now Lallana is in the England squad whilst Cork can't even get a game. Its not as if Cork has done anything wrong either.

I'd be gutted if he left. If Wanyama got injured and Cork was able to slot right in I would have him close to the England squad as a solid backup.

We must not let him go, one or two injuries & he is easierly first choice! (one more bit of indecision from Vic & he's 1st choice for me..... ;) )

He came on as towards the end on Saturday, so he's clearly still in Pochettino's thoughts. I hope he stays and fights for his place. But then I never wanted him dropped in the first place, and I'm still not convinced Wanyama's the better player. Anyway, a strong squad and competition for places are what we need if we are going to sustain our fantastic start to the season.

Just more gossip. Player not first choice, therefore he must be on the market. He is one injury from the team....we can't play a whole season with eleven men. The only chance that he will go in January is if we sign another similar but better player.

Still think he's better that Wanyama. Anyway, it doesn't matter what i think, the fact is if we qualify for Europe he should get a lot more games next season, so that's a good reason for him to stick around.

The press have tried to sell off almost every other one of our players so why not Jack as well.

Cork linked to Derby? Can't see him dropping down a division when he had a very solid full season in the premier league last season. Can't see him moving in the next window either, I think he will be involved more when the fixture list stacks up around Christmas/New Year.

He's made more mistakes in the six games I've watched him play than Jack did in the last two seasons. So no, still not convinced.

Absolutely essential that we keep Jack Cork, one of the few quality back up players who can come on at anytime and deliver a performance in a number of positions that will not effect the quality….some say he can add quality but I am not quite so sure

For certain away games at the top teams, I would like to see him added to the defensive midfield department especially teams like Arsenal and Man C who try and dominate the central midfield

Exactly. He's too good to be anywhere else but here.

Really, its difficult to say who is the better. The whole team has gone up a gear in terms of confidence and ability. There's no reason to think Cork wouldn't have moved up too. So, maybe Wanyama is better than Cork was last year (and thats a big 'maybe', he is different though) but Cork would also have been better than he was last year.

Right now, Wanyama has the shirt but if he continues to give the ball away, which he seems to with any pass that is remotely ambitious, then I can see Cork getting the nod again. The only slightly disappointing thing for me is that Cork didn't really take the opportunity of the cup games to press his case.

One thing is 100% for sure. Corky is going backwards relative to his teammates as he doesn't play often enough. As someone has pointed out, last season, he was in the British Olympic Football squad, while his teammates trained at Staplewood. This season, several of the English contingent are internationals, while Jack is waiting for an opening.

Maybe he lacks a little drive or confidence, I don't know, but I'd like to see him get a bit more game time than currently. He wouldn't let anyone down. As to whether he's better, worse or has the same ability as Wanyama, it doesn't matter. He can do the position and other jobs. Keep hold of him.

I don't think it really matters too much which is the better right now - Big Vic has the shirt currently, and Jack is not significantly worse (like for instance Shaw/Fox or Boruc/Davis). As has been stated, with injury and suspensions a given, Jack is precisely the type of player we need to be keeping hold of if we want to cement ourselves towards the top table. Seamless transition as much as is possible has to be the goal with our squad players.

Saying that, from a personal perspective, Jack could make a move to ensure more significant game time. However, to do that, he'd need to move to a club that's currently less well equipped. That's the devil/deep blue sea equation he needs to juggle with. Up to him ultimately, but we should do our utmost to keep him.

Ouch, LTL. I think Jack is a little closer to Victor than Fox is to Shaw and SKD is to Artur. :)
