First game of the season and on here it was ' Hobbs is ****' from him and a few others. If he's apologised then fair dos but get sick of reading kneejerk bullshit all the time and hopefully people like him can take a step back in future and think about what they are writing.

I remember those threads and I'm glad he's made some people eat their words. Not the first player to start off slowly and then become one of the best performers, Turner, Cort and Delaney to name a few. Our solid defence owes as much to Hobbs as it does to Chester.
You might remember my rant at the time about it too, the main thread was by Dr Photosynthesis and the guy who I'm not mentioning and who might have apologised on this thread berated Hobbs on here quite a few times, and up to a few months back was calling for him to be stripped of the captaincy, just saying
To be fair, when I was saying he was ****, it was because he was ****. Based on last season's performances alone we should have never signed him. He also wouldn't be my first choice for the captaincy, but is he proving to be better than I first thought. Me too PS Except when I doubted he was good enough to be captain, oh! and when I said City wouldn't ever win by more than one goal this season (but that was when NP was here). And maybe one time more which I can't quite recall.
I think all our players are having a good season apart from the odd blip.. a great season so far with a great chance of making the play offs..
He was never ****, and he never showed anything to suggest he wouldn't be a good signing. Just because you thought that at the time, doesn't mean it was true.
He signed in February, we didn't get a clean sheet with him playing until this season. That'd suggest he wasn't very good. Just because you thought otherwise, doesn't make it true.
Firstly that stat couldn't be less true; we got a clean sheet on his debut. Secondly, even if it was true (or acceprting your obvious retort that his debut doesn't count because it was a sub appearance), you can't just blame him. Tottenham didn't win with Gareth Bale in the side for something like 2 years after he signed for them. Was he ****?
Thanks for bringing that up for me. To be fair he was only on the pitch about 10 mins. Anyway, ridiculous Bale comparison, Bale's not a central defender. Hobbs' job is to stop goals being scored by the opposition, he failed to do that for about 6 months. That'd suggest he wasn't doing his job properly. He looked nervous as hell and it scared me to death every time he was on the ball as he couldn't pass and he just dithered. This was meant to be a positive thread and you've made me come across as a negative bastard. Bravo.
i'm not unblocking him, I can read requotes and hazard a guess at what he might be posting. I'll unblock him if he apologizes for calling me a hypocrite when I stated I was disappointed with Pearsons actions in leaving the club when I defended him for doing a good job for us, which he did do.
