ASTON VILLA and Sunderland are in a £9million fight for Real Mallorca centre-back Ivan Ramis. The Premier League rivals are both bidding to bolster their defensive strength for the new season. Ramis, 27, is now keen to continue his career in England after snubbing a switch to Everton two years ago. And Villa and the Black Cats would not have to break the bank. Ramis, who has three years left on his contract, earns a modest £11,000-a-week in wages with the La Liga outfit. He admitted: âThis could be the ideal moment to make a change, and the Premier League appeals. I want more challenges, more dreams.â Real Mallorca vice-president Lorenzo Serra Ferrer confirmed: âI have received an offer from the representative of a Premier League club.â
