As thread suggests been linked with the Algerian striker who did okay at the WC. Bit pricey though: http://www.insidefutbol.com/2014/07...ce-for-west-ham-target-islam-slimani/149910/?
We need to get over hang-ups on price ... our club is in the best financial shape in its' history and we will need to spend top dollar if we have ANY ambition of remaining in this league ... Lallana £27million V Slimani EURO 8million .... peanuts by comparison ... but I know which I feel is 'value for money' ...
I'm hoping that we can find that £2M gem who we then sell to Chelsea for £40 Billion and watch him fade into obscurity. Failing that there must be someone we could sign from a premier league club.
I was actually thinking the same that so many of our fans seem scared to death of us splashing out over 5 million. Shock horror lol Maybe they fear a repeat of the mess of the Peter Taylor ere. But if so then they should know better Nige and his team are in a different league and I have total trust in their judgement of a player.
Around £5-8m for a player that has been at the world cup is pretty cheap ... probably still overpriced ... but it is Mahrez's team mate, so will fit in easier
@StringerSport: Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson confirmed to me on @BBCLeicester that he has not bid for Algerian striker Slimani
Its not the cost in the money of the transfer fee, its what wage that they will demand for themselves! seen it so many times in the past they have a good world cup and come to England and turn out crap, then the team is saddled with a player on a high wage which they cant move on. Dont take my word for it, ask arry he knows a few donkeys just look at the queens.
