This is a plea to the minority of Swans fans posting on here - give it a rest boys, it's getting embarrasing! Brendan left us to go to Liverpool - he is a football manager and left for a better job; if I was offered a better job then I think I would leave my current one as well! Before he left us, Brendan signed a contract that meant we would be compensated if another club came in for him, he didn't have to do that - Liverpool made him an offer and he left - we employed Michael Laudrup to replace him and I think I can confidently say that we are happy with this! Joey left for Liverpool, but we were well compensated and used some of the money to buy players who are proving to be excellent additions to our club; Michu, Hernandez, Chico, Ki, De Guzman - we are arguably stronger as a squad than we were last season! But still some feel the need to berate Brendan at every opportunity; the most successful manager we have ever had, a manager that built on the work of others and took us to the Premier League, and kept us their in our first top flight season! We lapped up the post match interviews when he was with us, but now he is with Liverpool we scoff at, and ridicule his words! I met Brendan several times when he was our manager and always found him to be passionate and genuine – I refuse to believe that he has somehow ‘stabbed us in the back’; by renewing his contract he guaranteed that we would benefit financially if he left! As I have stated earlier – he didn’t have to do that! As for Joe Allen, I know the boy quite well and he didn’t take the move to Liverpool lightly, but in the end it was an opportunity he couldn’t turn down! And be honest – if you were offered a ‘dream job’ would you turn it down? So please desist with this egregious point scoring; I have always admired LFC and us Jacks have benefitted from our relationship with them over the years. Brendan left us for a new challenge – he always said that he had ambition to manage a top team one day; he never said that he would stick with Swansea for his whole career, so why are some so bitter toward him now? OK he didn’t invent our passing style, but he did develop it and got us to the Premier League. His new challenge is to re-establish Liverpool as the major force they used to be and I for one will wish him all the best; it’s not going to happen overnight, and when asked questions in post match interviews he is not going to say ‘we were crap’ – he never said that when we were crap – he is going to stick by his team and focus on the positives! Yes, he can be a bit of a ‘Blarney Merchant’, but when he was doing it for us, we loved it – so it is a bit hypocritical to slate him for it now! Apologies to any Jacks that I have upset with this post but, to be honest, the double standards are really beginning to piss me off! Rant over – Liverpool are a top team – us Swans are a top team – live and let live ffs!!!
Woy deserves contempt... not just for the example above but for his actions as manager. Isolated some of our best players. Wanted the best goal keeper in the league (at the time not now) to be "more English." Wouldn't play our best defender because he refused to play hoof ball. Purchased nothing but over aged crap... he knew he wouldn't be around for many more years so didn't care about providing for the future. Insulted the club by claiming disastrous defeats against lightweights were good results. Woy was an absolute nightmare... if he TRIED TO SABOTAGE the club he could scarcely have performed worse. We don't like Woy because he acted like he didn't care about the club. Was more concerned with his own image.

Respect your opinion as well J! And you are entitled to your opinion as I am, got a lot of time for you from past posts. But just feel that the constant Brendan bashing is making us all look a bit bitter and twisted. Think we don't always show him the respect he deserves.
Great post mate, pity the common sense approach you show isn't shown by the Swans that wont let go of Rodgers coat-tails. I hope they don't turn on you like they have with Dai.

Paulo Sousa was good friends with Dave Jones when they were our respective managers, not many of us were that keen on Sousa, but the issue of his choice of friends was no biggy
Cartoon, I ain't been here in almost year, after the crap with Syd not banning the scum on the general forum, so don't tarnish me with that. I wished brendan the best of luck when he left, imo we have had the better deal with laudrup and the players we have brought in.
