"Rolando Aarons is already reportedly attracting the attention of Liverpool and Manchester City.

The winger has broken through into the Mapgies’ first-team at the start of this season and impressed enough to grab the interest of City and Liverpool.

He could make a move in January, according to reports."

Is that what Sunderland & Newcastle are these days ......... feeder clubs for the top four?

I'm glad I watched Sunderland through the 1970' & 80's when it was fun and there was some hope of progress.

Neither NE club will ever win the league ever again ........... fact.

Sell a younster for silly money then buy 2 or 3 players that imprrove the side. Standard now for teams outside top 4. As long as the money is reinvested in the team I dont have too big of an issue. Its the nature of the beast.

Its not the NE alone though Smug, football is f**ked mate.

There has always been rich clubs who have nicked the cream of talent from the rest, even going back to the 60's & 70's. The problem today is the incredible disparity between the mega rich elite and the rest. Its enormous and without a mega billionaire owner completely out of reach.

Outside Man City, Utd and Chelsea and a considerable way down the line it shoukd be said, is the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal. After them is all the rest.

A team from outside those 5 clubs mentioned will never win the league again IMO. That's very sad and not good for the game IMO.

I know that's the theory and Newcastle keep claiming that's their 'model'.

Have they improved despite selling off their 'crown jewels' year after year?

The players Newcastle & Sunderland have sold in the last 5 years would be capable of a top four finish.

Neither will finish top four ever again.

    See this i disagree with

Everton have managed to keep hold of the likes of Baines/Jagielka and managed to improve their squad with some fine additions in Mirallas/Lukaku but also had a bit of youth in Barkley

Everton to me show what can happen if you keep hold of your players, higher up in the league and battling for things

Took a while I admit but its been worth it I would argue
