Still not the finished article but what a sub from the bench. Last 4 games = 6 goals which shows he has it in him. I do love his commitment though.
I'd be really fascinated to see how he plays in a team alongside Gayle - think it would work really well, but can't see it happening at the moment
Fully unconvinced but I cant remember a player in recent memory who I want to prove me wrong more. Plus he does actually have qualities. This is not a shola situation he does know where the back of the goal is. Basically he needs to our Giroud. That is his game.
Unconvinced, but he's proving that he has that something about him. I wish him well, and so hope that he cuts out getting so many yellow cards. He might have faired even better today if Atsu had played.
I can see him getting plenty of opportunities judging by the way Rafa keeps rotating the squad. The problem others teams have at the moment when they play us, is that they really don't know who the **** we will be fielding. We have decent strength in depth for the first time in a long time. Its proving to be a shrewd policy at the moment too. Injuries seem to be at a minimum and nobody is certain of a starting place so they are all looking to make a mark when their opportunity comes.
Unconvinced ..but every time he is on the pitch I am willing him on to do better, get better, fulfill his potential. I do think he has it in him, is only just 22, and being Rafa'd is just what he needs if he is going to. TBF ..this season he does look fitter/sharper/calmer ..and more mobile ..(fair do's re 2nd tier oppo's etc etc) That all said..just love the guy and if all he ever became was a Shola upgrade ..I would still want him around as 4/5/6th striker
Promising young striker. Lots to learn but he has undoubted ability. His pedigree suggests he will flourish with time. He certainly has an excellent attitude - he is more than happy to get his hands dirty. Seems a good team man too the way he celebrates even when benched. It appears he has a genuine affection for the club and fans - that is something you can't put a value on.
Totally agree with that. It is a huge positive to have players around the club who are infections with their enthusiasm for the team to do well...even if sometimes he goes a bit crazy with it!
I love the guy. A mad bastard but he really is what you look for in terms of passion and actually giving a damn. That alone buys him time, from me, should he not perform. I do think he will become a big player for us eventually. The lad is clearly a talent.
On this point he has sat on the bench and waited like a good professional. He has celebrated with the players when scoring when he was not playing and for this reason you can see he respects the team and the fans. He has came in last two games and done a good job and thus it's testament to the management to keep him hungry. Although he needs to stop trying to yank players heads off..... for the record on his second goal yesterday he nearly took the goalkeeers head off when he slid in.
This 100% I am unconvinced, but love the guy to bits. I think he will come good, but part of me wants him to stick around whether he does or not. You can buy skill, goalscoring, technique, etc, but you can't buy the passion he has for the club or the passion he brings out in us when he plays.
I think it remains to be seen if he has what it takes to lead the line at PL level. Hopefully he will score 20+ goals in the league this season and will come back up with us full of confidence and with the discipline needed to avoid silly yellows and sendings off. But he's done nothing yet that guarantees that.
