Is it just me who's had an absolute tit full of the fact that most of the headlines in the wake of our success, are about the strong possibility - or even inevitability according to some about losing another manager?
I know it will come at some point, but do we need to worry about it now?

It has been the same for the last, how many seasons. Unfortunately with our success it will always be. I still think ML will be here next year.

Yeah, slow news days have followed our win, so rather than focus on the area and what the win means along with what Europe will do for the city, they have chosen to rehash quotes from ML, HJ and get "experts" to come on and state the bleedin' obvious.

We're victims of the 24hour "news" cycle unfortunately. Just wish they would actually do some proper journalism and write decent reports on football and perhaps how finances and club management is changing - it seems only web-based bloggers are able to produce these nowadays sadly.

Norfolk your absolutely spot on there friend. I find that blogs from genuine football fans are the only thing worth reading lately.
Journalism seems to be worse than ever with regurgitated stories and quotes from those who mean nothing.
Where I'd normally be looking through news articles in my boredom after any sort of Swans achievement, this week I've given up on it and have even resorted to bloody facebook! <steam>

    Facebook! Christ, things are bad!

Agree though it's becoming increasingly difficult to find any decent content to use as work avoidance....

I'll tell you what did get on my tits this week.

    BBC Sport Website on Monday!

Swansea win the Cup by a record breaking margin and for their first time.

David Beckham makes a sub appearance for PSG (16+ minutes), and PSG win 2-0 (Beckham "had a hand" in the 2nd goal - his pass leading to the cross from which Zlatan Ibrahimovic poked in from close range)

Now which one of those do you suppose was the headline for the day?

Yup, you guessed it and it made my blood boil

On the ML thing, I can honestly say it was the first thing that crossed my mind as soon as the Swans went 3-0 up. He is going to be looked at even more closely from here on in, is inevitable I'm afraid.

But that's why it's all so bl00dy annoying. The reports are just going round in circles and circles, reprinting the same quotes over and over. You can hear how weary ML is becoming answering these stupid questions. It's like the reporters are goldfish and just swim in circles and forget that they've already asked that question/covered that non-story.

I spose we're to blame for reading these websites and watching Sky Sports news..... :(

I know it's inevitable Thai, it's just that it seems to be the only story of the week - apart from Beckham's appearance apparently <laugh>

Journalism is a horrible profession. If they just asked question and printed the answers then okay but they don't as they are such twisty, turny little cretins out to make a sensation headline.

We had it for a large chunk of last season with PL as did you guys to perhaps a lesser extent with BR. Now if Chris Hughton keeps us up this time and shows an improvement next season, we will be back where we were last season, sweating on another manager being poached from us.

Hopefully he'll stay with you for at least 1 more season to see how things go, but the problem you guys face next season is doing better than you have this time round, that is going to be a huge ask of any manager.

I don't want this thread to descend into chat about replacing managers as that flies in the face of what the thread is about, but I just want to make the point that whatever or whenever happens to sir Michael, we will be a more appealing prospect for a top manager than we've ever been, so I don't think that should be a concern for us.
I do think that Huw will continue to think outside the box though and appoint someone we'd have never thought of

The problem is it isn't even speculation - it's trying to force it to happen. Last year there were pundits about who were saying that Rodgers had to go or he had no ambition. Actively criticising him for even thinking of staying.

It is lazy journalism because it is the sort of opinion story you get from your mates in the pub.

Research and lookng for an original take on a story is too much work.

I had a few years work experience with a news paper a few years back and it was soul destroying - not the staple work of the work excperience lad - but what everyone else was doing. It was all such a waste of time - they would have my sympathy if there wasn't such an underlying malice to their behaviour.

Could someone tell Chris Coleman that we don't give a rat's arse about what he thinks about the Swans - where does he come to poking his nose into out affairs - I'd think he'd have more than enough on his plate doing his own job!!

its them pundits who talk about us every where they go has put us up the top of the most talked about clubs behind the obvious big clubs....people moan when we are not the topic of conversation in the english papers but are still in them, so we cant have it to suit....we could be ignored and only read about it in the welsh media and get nowhere and still be unknown around the world...thank god everyone is talking about us...

I don't think anyone really minds the pundits talking about us- it's the negativity in their approach - we all know who and what, we are we don't need everybody and their brother to tell us. Dai does the missus tell you to watch out for traffic or don't step off the pavement every time you leave the house? No of course not - you know who and what you are and what the consequencs of being those are - same with us Count the articles talking about ML leaving versus the style we played with on Sunday and you'll see what most of us are saying.

Until the club and it's profile grow, our best players and manager will always be linked to other so-called big clubs, it's something our board recognise, in the short to medium term, but long term, our board will have targeted growth of our size and profile, so that one day, not too far away, these issues will be a thing of the past, so we live with it in the mean time!.................<ok>
