After a couple of shaky games should Hobbs be considered for captain or even first team chouce?

Captain, no. At 22 he's far too young to be captain when he himself is still learning. He had a better game i thought today and with a bit of perserverance he could become a good centre back for us. He's still only 22 so he still has his career ahead of him. I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but we saw with Turner the benefits of sticking by a young defender and getting him consistently performing well.

ffs, we win at home for the first time this season and you still want to take a pop at someone?

Who the **** else are you going to play there? We've only got two first team centre backs available.

    I despair, I really do. <doh>

I despair the amount of posts you've made. Did you enjoy the fresh air today or didn't you go to the game.

I think it's a fair question, there could have been a poorer performer or someone who could improve a bit to keep up with his team mates for the next game. He is young and needs to know what he has done wrong so he can build.

    I didn't go so i don't know :(

What difference does it make how many posts I've made?

And I go to pretty much every game.

Have you actually got anything to contribute, or is your sole aim to post insults aimed at me?

    ****ing dipshit.

I posted something similar last week. Now its....

    5 league games played.
From 4 of those we have conceded 2 goals.
1 of these goals was an own goal.
For some reason people seem quick to slate our defence and particularly the new permanent recruit.
    Give it a rest.

Yes he is. My only concern was when Chester was running back and was gonna knock it to Basso and Hobbs came across and put it in touch. No problems there for me. But they didnt seem to like each other or communicate well. It was a bit of a Hansen Miller moment for Scotland all those years ago.

Who's complaining? you read into it what you want, Hobbs was captain last week
and I am told he didn't have a very good game, yes he is only 22years old and too young to be captain on the show of his ability. I do however think he will make it but it will take time

I thought he did alright today....Chester is the calmer head of the two but Hobbs smashed his way through a few Reading players today that Chester would just bounce off. I do think we need an older head in the back line...even if its just for cover because if we lose one we're ****ed. Chester can always move slightly forward to accomodate if neccesary also.

I thought Dawson had a good game (older head).....Dudgeon will come on with more games...maybe off the bench.

Hobbs had a good game today and wears the club colours on his heart - he looks to me like very committed individual to the Tigers.

Enjoyed todays game. Lets move on again after the international break.

Disappointed Big Joe is moving on. He is a true English Legend. UTT

I thought it odd that you should post an article like this immediately after a game we'd won, particularly as it was a game that got a monkey off our back.

I thought it odd that you post an article about him being captain, immediately after a game in which he wasn't captain.

And I thought it odd that you would question if he should be in the team, when we have no other experienced centre backs available.

Had you just asked if people thought Hobbs should be our captain, I would have said no, it would be Rosenior all day long for me, I just thought your timing was a little odd.

No thanks, Chester is a central defender and that is it. He played right back and centre mid last season and was no where near as good as he is at centre back.

Hobbs did 'OK' today against a poor opposition but against a better side I'm sure he will struggle. I do doubt if he will make it at Championship level but he's in NP's pocket so he'll be ok and first on team sheet.

Bloody hell, nobody had a bad game today imo. Yes there were a few iffy moments (Basso's goal kick and Cairney giving it away in a dangerous area) but everybody played well. They all did their jobs very well and nobody deserves to be slated after a good performance. We dominated that game and was rarely troubled at the back. We managed to get 7? Corners inside the first 25 mins which kind of sums up the game tbh. I was most impressed with Rosenior, Chester, Dawson, Brady, Cairney, McKenna and McLean though.
