Alreet lads. Just been across to 606 and found this aricle

From a Wigan fan. This is no intention of a wum article. Just wondering what your thought are regarding the below.

When Steve Bruce left Wigan Athletic for Sunderland at the end of the 2008/09 season he hit a parting shot across the bows of the DW when he said: 'It's like shopping in Harrods now, not Tesco.'

Well it looks like Harrods wasn`t all it was cracked up to be with Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn revealing that the Wearsiders may need to sell their top stars to balance the books. Quinn is reported as saying: "...the club may have to downsize and cut its cloth differently, it`ll be difficult to follow up on the current investment and players may have to be sold."

When the Latics sold Wilson Palacios in January 2009, Bruce looked to give up the ghost and his team went on a dreadful run that saw them fall from Europa League chasers to also ran`s, with a record of 18 games, 3 wins, 5 draws and a whopping 10 defeats.

Similar to the Palacios sale at Wigan, Darren Bent left Sunderland in the January window for a large wad of cash, headed off to Aston Villa, it will be interesting to see how the sale of Bent and Quinn`s comments effect Bruce and his teams form, currently they are on a run of 1 win in the last 5 Premier League games and at the moment 3 losses on the bounce.

I had/have no intention of criticising Bruce, Quinn or Sunderland, but I find it ironic that the ambition, or lack of it, that saw Steve Bruce quit the Latics is rearing its head again at his new club and I for one will be an interested observer over the next few months to see if life for Brucie in the North East pans out any differently from his time in the North West.

A little bit of history repeating?

God i hope not, were at a crossroads right now. The next few months are going to set us up for years to come. Do we want to challenging at the top or scrapping around mid?

Fans need to get behind the club and stop all this negativity. Haway the lads!
